They are VERY different things indeed. Matt is no shredder, that's obvious, and Genn did most of the MGB lead work, but Matt's come into his own on this record as far as melodious guitar work goes. And simply making two records on which you play most of the guitars would qualify as a "good" guitarist in my mind. He can certainly play all his stuff live as well, which is an important facet of it. -julz

I'm personally more of a fan of MGB than MG, but a few more albums like WLRRR and I might just have to take that back. From the MGB bootlegs I've got (Snowjob 99 and the 98 CBC radio show), Dave can certainly play his shit, it soudns almost just like the album. And you're all forgetting about poor Geoff Lloyd! Now there was a funky son of a bitch! -julz

Although this'll probably never ever happen, I still think an MGB retrospective DVD would be awesome, with all the videos LOTGA through AOB (including the elusive Haven't Slept In Years video), and some concert/interview footage. -julz

From your list, you are mising Lo-Fi B-Sides, a 3-song limited edition EP released between Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight. It's basically impossible to find here in Canada now, so your best bet for it is to watch Ebay like a hawk. Also, if your version of Beautiful Midnight has Deep Six, Everything Is Automatic, and other Underdogs tracks, you have the US version and are missing some album cuts that were on the Canadian version, such as I Miss New Wave. -julz
