  2. I believe it had something to do with Keith Moon saying that they would sink like a lead zeppelin. Or something like that. I'm too lazy to look it up. I say The Who all the way!
  3. I'm not really sure. I found it floating around on Kazaa about 6 months before WLR&RR came out.
  4. In some states, teachers can lose their jobs for teaching evolution. Kerry brought up a great point in the debates: "I'm not going to require a 16-year-old girl who's been raped and made pregnant by her father to tell her father that she's getting an abortion."
  5. He's been in court a few times. Apparently he's taken up poetry and gardening while he's in prison.
  6. Dorky guys with glasses! 'Spain' - Chick Corea
  7. Instead of singing "Dream of where it left you," he sings, "Dream of when it left you." At least that's what it's like on my bootleg copy.
  8. What's the one non-MG/MGB song?
  9. One of my favourite Chrétien lines was when a Bloc MP declared his national allegiance to be Quebecois. Chrétien shot back, "who does he think gives him his paycheque?" I got a good laugh out of that.
  10. 6/10 They were really good before 'Spiritual Machines' came out. Now all their stuff sounds the same. Interpol
  11. What Kerry voted for was the ability to go to war, not to actually send the troops in. That distinction is easy to make fun of, but it's important to realize that basically what he was voting for was *brinksmanship*. Further, there was a point in time before the war when this strategy worked --- Saddam was pressured to let the weapons inspectors back into Iraq. Actually, it was Bush who threatened to veto a bill Kerry co-sponsored to provide $87B to the troops by rolling back Bush's tax cuts on the wealthy elite. Effectively, Bush put his "have mores" ahead of the troops, and Repubs in Congress killed it. George Bush's $87B just added more to the debt, already the largest in history. The bottom line is this: John Kerry proposed a bill to fund the troops without running up the massive deficit. Bush killed it. For who? Those making more than $200,000/year. 96% of small businesses would not be affected by Kerry's plans. If George Bush hadn't made his irresponsible tax cuts in the first place, then there would be no need to perpetuate this. Bush's healthcare plan costs the same as the one Kerry proposed. John Kerry voted to raise taxes 98 times? If that makes him a pussy liberal, then I guess Dick Cheney's 140 votes for tax hikes elevates him to the realm of Che Guevara. What they don't tell you is that Kerry has voted over 600 times to lower taxes. Straight from JohnKerry.com: Where in his platform is this stated? I know that Kerry would not require a 16 year old girl who was raped by her father and made pregnant to tell her father that she was getting an abortion. A fair argument, I guess. It's really an opinion thing, this. I'm in favour of this and have stated so here many times before, so I won't get into any detail about it. I've already addressed half of this above. The largest tax increase in history (a $.50 gas tax that was proposed in 1986 that would have the price of gasoline paid by American drivers to increase by billions of dollars a year?) never got a vote from Kerry, but it DID get a hearty endorsement from Dick Cheney, who actually introduced it, saying: "Let us rid ourselves of the fiction that low oil prices are somehow good for the United States." He wanted to double the number of special forces in Iraq, who are better trained for the urban warfare taking place there. This, in effect, lessesns the strains placed on the regular troops there already. And if you can prove that George Bush fulfilled his obligations in the National Guard, you could be eligible for a cash prize. http://www.texansfortruth.com/ And how does the doctor who *ahem "supposedly nominated" John Kerry for only one of his Purple Hearts remember exactly who he did and did not nominate for that award? Is the entire crew of Kerry's swift boat lying to us? Did John Kerry not save a crewmate's life? DId he not save his entire crew when he killed a Viet Cong with his own hands? George Bush is a failure. He did not deserve to be elected president. He did not deserve to be appointed president 4 years ago, either. That's my 2 cents. I'm tired.

  13. Dead or alive, the Palestinians are better off without that corrupt bastard Arafat in power.
  14. Ok...just about the whole gay marriage thing...what makes anyone think that gay marriage would be made legal if Kerry had won? He's against it too, and has said so many times before. Just because he doesn't think a constitutional amendment banning it is wrong, doesn't mean that he will make it legal. John Edwards said something interesting in the vice-presidential debate (I think i've mentioned this here already). He said that no state is legally obligated to recognize the marriage of an out-of-state heterosexual couple. Ironic, eh? PS: Who says same-sex marriages have to be gay? B)
  15. I hated Bush before it was cool. *smug grin
  16. The politics of fear almost always win over fiscal responsibility and social rights&freedoms.
  17. When my TOK teacher announced that Kerry had conceded, there was a huge moan of despair in my class.
  18. What's stupid is how the Repubs were using same-sex marriage as a wedge to divide the country. John Kerry is against same sex marriage as well, just that he doesn't feel that imposing his beliefs on everyone with a constitutional amendment is right. During the vice-presidential debate, John Edwards made an interesting point: no state is legally obligated to recognize the marriage of an out of state couple. How ironic.
  19. And we can't ignore history. All the defeatist talk is just icing on the Republican cake. Yes, I'm disappointed too. I am Canadian, so this may sound a little hypocritical; but I don't think that Bush winning the presidency for the first time should drive people out of their country when their country clearly needs them more than ever.
  20. In the words of my Theory of Knowledge teacher: "Four more years of dealing with Papa Redneck." Bush has no one to thank for his election, other than the 3000 who died on September 11, 2001. Damn his soul to hell.
