  1. I had my 666th post a while back. Now this is my 682nd, I think. Edit: 683rd.
  2. I may have turned my English teacher on to Matt Good last year after I reviewed 'At Last There Is Nothing Left To Say'.
  3. Oh sure, rub it in. *grumble grumble sulk Just kidding. I'm glad you all enjoyed the show ;)
  4. Best voice range: Justin Hawkins of (ugh) the Darkness has an excellent and very strong range, just as strong as Matt Good's. Same with Todd Clark of Pilate, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, and Matt Bellamy from Muse. But since I called The Who, I'll argue for them. Roger Daltrey has a more versatile range of singing styles than Matt Good, and just as good as, if not better, a range in vocals. Musical instrumentation: Again, The Who can match and surpass MGB and MG. Keyboards (Won't Get Fooled Again), acoustic guitars (Behind Blue Eyes), strings (I've Known No War). Keith Moon, as has been mentioned before, is one of the greatest drummers of all times. Geoff and Rich, as great as they are, would get schooled by John Entwistle. Pete Townshend...well...just listen to 'Ex-Pats', then 'Won't Get Fooled Again', then 'Can't Explain', then 'It's Been A While Since I Was Your Man'. Most Variety in Musical Styles: Again, just listen to albums in succession as they evolve from blues-based rock to arena anthems, and everything in between. With that all said, I believe I just told you that there is a band better than MG(B). For me, there's a difference between Favourite Band (mine being, of course MG(B)), and Best Band (obviously, in my opinion, The Who).
  5. There's some pretty great legal mp3 sites out there.
  6. Nothing wrong with being a band geek. I practise my trumpet about 90 minutes a day, and just look how sexy I am!
  7. Arrogant Worms, Three Dead Trolls In A Baggie, Weird Al, Dennis Leary, Tenacious D, and Big Dumb Face are all quite awesome.
  8. 1) Apparitions 2) Suburbia 3) Running For Home
  9. Yeah, he's a way better bassist than a singer.
  10. I really hate the fact that no one on the right has made a serious attempt to counter 'Fahrenheit 911'. It's all just "Moore's a stupid poopoo head," or, "he's fat. Let's not listen to him. Hohoho." But then, that begs the question: If no one can counter his supposed lies and distortions, is he really making propaganda?
  11. GAWDDAMMIT I WISH I WAS THERE! I had to play at a divisional band concert the same night. We had to be there at 6:15, and we didn't go on until 8:30. Boo-urns. ;)
  12. http://www.thatsuncalledfor.com/debate_notes/index.html Many Bothans died to bring us this information ;)
  13. I never thought so, either, but then when my friend mentioned it I had to start thinking about it. Because while the subject matter is different, I can see how the sound could be the same. Well, they may be similar musically, but the lyrics are usually what makes a song emo, so I wouldn't say that MGB is comparable to an emo band in that respect.
  14. Radiohead sounds like they influenced some of the MGB stuff. 'Underdogs' has some Pixies undertones.
  15. 1) Failing the Rorschach Test 2) Advertising On Police Cars 3) My Out Of Style Is Coming Back
  16. yay! I'm the 10th highest poster! ;)
