Ray_gun: that is so awesome. You're my hero. But yeah. He was too sick to sign in Ottawa, so hopefully he's feeling better when he gets to your town. I met him last year and he was really great, so I don't feel TOO crushed.

What Songs Should Be Acoustic Next?
manfromharoldwood replied to prototypepariah's topic in Matthew Good
RWWBK is my second favorite song ever... my life is near-complete, as I can now say I've seen him play it live. acoustic would be... delicious. -
Matt has earned my undying respect. I'd waited after the Ottawa show to get In A Coma autographed, and his manager came out and told us he was too sick to stand out in the cold (which I knew and understood), but that Matt wanted us all to have signed In A Coma poster... which was so sweet of him! He was selling these posters for $10, too. Honestly, how many artists would do that for his fans? Not to mention the free acoustic show the night before. Matt even won over my bf, who isn't even into that type of music.

Jarrod: Trent is pretty neat. I liked non-entity a lot, I hope he continues doing Still-esque type songs. I love the whole raw feeling. Same deal with me & avalanche. I've bought it twice (because I didn't buy the special edition the first time... lmao.) and have listened to it constantly since the day it came out. In my opinion, that has been the climax of Matt's career (so far).

i'm sure the taco bell shoes thing has been beaten into the ground (i only found out the real lyrics today and it makes me giggle)... but i always thought he said "I'll tackle god's shoe"...

Didn't Win To Get In The Ottawa Show?...no Problem
manfromharoldwood replied to Ray_Gun's topic in Matthew Good
i get so annoyed when 15 year old little blonde girls (who pushed their way up to the front to begin with) give me shit for being so tall... but yeah. i'm not going to complain at all. free concert = rocks. (i definitely would've paid if it meant i was up front, though...) -
scot: age does not bring maturity (unfortunately)... although i do prefer 19+ shows. i'm referring to the drunk women aged about 25-ish who were basically moshing to the acoustic songs in front of me... no yu begin wher i end: barefax is a strip located right next door to the venue he played in.

it's a new song... he told us that we were the first ones to ever hear it.

*shudder* dubs are always SOOOO bad. nothing at all springs to mind that i was actually impressed by. from what amazon.ca says, the NA version will be japanese with subtitles... and a bonus DVD too. whee!

2005 Matthew Good Band Elimination
manfromharoldwood replied to NationofCool's topic in Matthew Good
1. North American For Life (Simply because I don't know the other... *shame*) 2. She's Got A New Disguise (Same as above, but I love this song anyway) 3. Man From Harold Wood (Both good songs... but c'mon.) 4. Prime Time Deliverance 5. While We Were Hunting Rabbits (My favorite song ever!) 6. Life Beyond The Minimum Safe Distance (Ex-Pats lacks character IMO) 7. A Boy and His Machine Gun 8. The Fine Art Of Falling Apart (Going All The Way takes too long to get started...) 9. Avalanche (I love Inescapable Us, but Avalanche is better...) -
Didn't Win To Get In The Ottawa Show?...no Problem
manfromharoldwood replied to Ray_Gun's topic in Matthew Good
for serious! it was SO unreal. luckily, i'm pretty tall so it doesn't quite matter where i stand. still, i do love front row. (that pisses the shorter ones off.. but meh. they should get there earlier!) -
Didn't Win To Get In The Ottawa Show?...no Problem
manfromharoldwood replied to Ray_Gun's topic in Matthew Good
i know... i'm bummed that i won't be up front (i knew it was an unrealistic request; i was just joking), but i can't complain. nothing cheaper than something free. last night was... orgasmic. -
kvanlierop; most of matt's shows are $30+... the highest i've paid so far was $40, which was the same price i paid to see NIN. not that i'm complaining; i love the good. but as he once said (and i am paraphrasing): if you want cheerleaders and exploding backstreet boy dolls, you gotta pay more. sorry. a little off topic.

Didn't Win To Get In The Ottawa Show?...no Problem

inacoma... save me a front row seat? ;) -
I'm going to say... Happiness. Or End of Evangelion. And static; do you mean the entire Matrix trilogy, or just the first movie? Because I'd put off watching Reloaded and Revolutions until just this past Saturday because I was so scared off by the shitty reviews and loved the first one... and they were just as bad as everyone claimed. The story was really convoluted and the acting was... well, the same, but the SFX weren't as interesting anymore to cover it up.
-
well, it IS coming out in north america on like november 24th (or somewhere in that proximity)... but i take it you can't wait that long. a couple of my friends just found it on bit torrent. all i'll say... is that it looks MUCH more promising that final fantasy: the spirits within.

How Rare Is That Ottawa Acoustic Show?
manfromharoldwood replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
yeah, i was impressed with the turnout... i got there at 4:00 and was half expecting there to be only 20 people or so... i was something like number 330. the bouncer guy said they'd let in 350 people, and that after me was about 20 more... it was freakin' cold, too; i feel bad for those that waited for nothing. the show was really entertaining; i loved how interactive it was. breath of a nation is so pretty... i think the best part was that there were these drunk university girls in front of me, totally rocking out... to ACOUSTIC songs... kinda funny. -
Who Hates U2?
manfromharoldwood replied to bettafish1776's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i'm offended that they made arcade fire open for them; shoulda been the other way around. death to U2. -
Audioslave/cuba
manfromharoldwood replied to jrok's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
audioslave sounds... gross. post-grunge is tired. it's sad, really, because soundgarden and rage were such awesome bands. -
Olp
manfromharoldwood replied to X-Rated Truffle Pig's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
horrible album all around... still better than gravity, which sounded eerily like creed. OLP just reminds me of being young. that's my excuse for liking their earlier stuff... -
New Metallica
manfromharoldwood replied to Minx333's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
born to hula: i agree sooo much! that moron killed the tea party... and what little credibility OLP had left, too. but all in all, metallica always sucked IMHO. -
Stars Ripped Off Matt Good
manfromharoldwood replied to Cherry Poppin' Daddy's topic in Matthew Good
i love matt good, but i don't think many artists would be ripping him off as he probably isn't too well known outside of canada... -
Britpop is ok... in small dose. (oasis is still OVERrated, though.) When given the choice, what do you dream about?
