  1. So we haven't really heard any reviews and we haven't seen a setlist yet. What gives?
  2. I remember you, foresthouse. You were the law student/masseuse who was trying to crawl into his van afer he left the deck. Great pictures. (By the way, you met Dookas. He was sitting at the end of the table on the deck speaking German with Dan.)
  3. Yes, there were some crew cuts there that put yours to shame, man. You're lucky I knew you were under that crew cut, though. You're also lucky my wife brought the camera and is a dedicated cigarette smoker.
  4. I had him sign the (incorrect) setlist and my two unused Boston tickets. (Sorry to anyone who couldn't go to the Boston show because I bought the tickets you needed and then never showed up.)
  5. Wow, JoePosh. You pretty much just got served by a guy who gives the thumbs up in front of chalk window signs. Oh, it's on...
  6. Honestly, it was a bar/restaurant. There is a wall dividing the floor so it was a really small place. A total blast, though. I recommend the baked brie... not so much the pasta. They have very low-carb pasta there. In fact, they have invisible pasta. Crazy... Here's what I've got uploaded to my photo page so far. http://picasaweb.google.com/kpcoppertop/MattGoodArlington
  7. And with that reply by Gomo I can add another.
  8. Here's a picture from last night.
  9. Generation X-wing was on the setlist last night, but it was dropped for "Pledge of Allegiance" and "If I was a tidal wave"
  10. I was one of those others. Matt was great. He chilled out with us after the show for a couple hours. Just another guy at a bar. It was pretty surreal. By the way, JoePosh I met your boy John. His crew cut wasn't as conspicuous as I thought it would be, but my Nordiques cap was. He recognized me early on after the sound check and we all hung out all night. I have pictures for him. I'm just waiting for my wife to wake up and give me his email address.
  11. I try not to make a habit of saying "hey John" to lone crew-cut sporting dudes, but I might make an exception tonight.
  12. Looks like it's you, me, and Matt.
  13. If anyone is going to the show tonight, then let me know where you'll be beforehand. I think we'll try to grab dinner at IOTA, but we may also hit up an area pub. I'll be the guy wearing the old school Nordiques cap. (As if I had to say "old school" before I said "Nordiques.")
  14. I just play that song using Damien Rice style barre chords. Thumb down on the E and leave the B and high E open. I think it sounds great.
  15. He knows how to play Fearless. When I play I cover Fearless all the time, but the song really loses its brightness without the piano.
  16. The crowd should have Rick Rolled on her
  17. Dookas, I'll help you out with the chant. (I'm thinking he can't turn down the encore to that either. Of course, it happens all the time.) Hey lady, don't you dare fucking come to this show tonight.
  18. Gomo, are you in DC for the show tonight?
  19. My wife and I were there last night at NYC. It was such a great show. Tripoli was a huge surprise. I think the thing I liked the best was that at no point did he come on stage and play the "I feel miserable and I want to kill myself" card. He was completely professional, funny, and the vocals were spot on. I just wish Taylor had better pick-ups (and I know that wasn't the cause of the problem. Most likely that was a bad cable.) I just know that Martins I've heard have a much brighter stage sound than his Taylors.
  20. Sorry, try this one. http://home.comcast.net/~kbernardp/Kevin_P...Born_Losers.wma
  21. http://home.comcast.net/~kbernardp/Kevin_P...Born_Losers.wma Disclaimer: All rights reserved by Matthew Good on this song. I clearly do not have the rights to distribution or anything, this is simply a cover and not for profitable intentions. Just looking for opinions. It's the first song I've completed on my Fostex.
  22. Hey all, not sure if anyone cares, but I gave a shot at recording Born Losers on my own. I've got some pitch issues from time to time (and I totally omitted the bridge), but I thought I'd share. Further, I hope distribution of this is legal. I am not profiting from it in anyway whatsoever, for the record. You can find my WMA here. http://home.comcast.net/~kbernardp/Kevin_P...Born_Losers.wma Thanks, Kevin
  23. Here's one thing we do really well in America. We get huge attendance at things called rallies. At these rallies we stand around like it's some kind of BBQ at the park, pay no attention to the speakers, or we dance around with our big "stop the genocide" signs because it's so cool to be activists. I attended the rally in DC yesterday and frankly it was infuriating. The atmosphere of the Mall yesterday was pretty much the same as the Capital beltway at 8 o'clock on a weekday morning. People were laying around in the way like they owned the 15 square foot patch of grass that their blanket covered. Nobody listend to a single thing the speakers said. Nobody shut up to pay attention to the real significance of the cause, and because of this I couldn't hear a thing that was said. I'm not talking about a local rabbi speaking at this event, either. I'm talking about Rwandan genocide survivor Paul Rusesabagina and holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. These two men spoke to a crowd of indifferent families eating sandwiches and talking amongst themselves just waiting for their chance to see George Clooney speak. I'm disappointed in you, attendees of Washington DC's save Darfur rally. The message was important, and it could have been clear... It's too bad you treated it like buying a book and a t-shirt was enough.
  24. Kim, stop googling my name. The only way you'd be reading this message is if you were being creepy and using the internet to play "private investigator" with my name. Please don't do it anymore.
  25. It's about turning people into pirates, I heard. Like this
