  1. X-Rated - IOTA
  2. Here's Single Spark
  3. Warning - gratuitous back-patting alert. Weapon was played tonight at IOTA for the second time ever. I played it the first time. hoozaaaaaa Video being posted to youtube right now. Tags are "Matthew Good Iota Single Spark Explosion Arlington VA" Right after this song Matt asked for the stage lights to be turned off except for the Christmas lights above. This, of course, yielded terrible video for the rest of the show. Nothing else will be uploaded. http://www.youtube.com/kbernardp
  4. He's a very nice guy. Don't worry about asking him to sign things. I got about four different pictures of him with me and my wife. I took pictures for other people as well. He didn't act burned by it at all and was a very nice guy about it. Go ahead and say hi to him. Nothing to be afraid of.
  5. I would trade all of my MG show memories and both of my dogs to live in San Diego.
  6. 12th page? Yes, I think it's a coincidence. Just like if you google "Dr. Teeth" on the 12th page you'll find a picture of a jack-o-lantern. Coincidence?
  7. Really? Hello Time Bomb and Load Me Up?? Did you forget about those shows he did in 1999?
  8. My wife and I were trying to find one for our wedding in 2005 and we ended up having to choose a different artist altogether... We couldn't find one that worked at all.
  9. Wow, I wish someone would record Apparitions!
  10. I think you both have appropriate usernames.
  11. It would be really nice if we could get "Fought to Fight It" up here somewhere... Has that been recorded by ANYONE? We keep seeing repeats of the same songs he's been playing for fifteen years.
  12. Is your buddy's name John? If so, I believe he spent the majority of the evening hanging out with my wife, my friend and I.
  13. I went to the Iota show two years ago and there was plenty of room to move. He'd only get the 9:30 club to 1/20th of its capacity. I think this is a good fit... I'll definitely be there early as long as my wife doesn't give birth that day.
  14. One of the things I find to be unique about this forum is that the community is "rewarded" with NF$ for posting comments. One of the things I find ironic is that you're still rewarded even when you're telling an artist to suck your balls.
  15. I found this on youtube. It is also amazing.
  16. The more I listen the more I actually like it now. Check out Depression Suite... It's a 9:28 long song that I've probably listened to six times today.
  17. I'm at the office right now and I don't have my guitar with me, but there's a trick to making that chord progression sound right. The F is played with the thumb on the root note (first fret, low E string) and the E chord shape is made with the other four fingers. (3rd finger on the A third fret, 4th finger on the D 3rd fret, first finger on the B first fret, and use your second finger to hammer-on the G string second fret.) Leaving the high E string open, you hammer on that 2nd fret (the note is an A) on one strum, then quickly re-align your fingers to land on the C chord. If I remember correctly, then that's it. Start practicing using your thumb on that bass note if you aren't comfortable already. It opens up a lot of hammer-on stuff that standard barre chords make impossible. It will allow you to have more of a Hendrix or Frusciante feel to your playing.
  18. Ken Andrews... That is all.
  19. What are your thoughts on this? I was so surprised that not a single song on this album has the octane of a Vaccination Scar or a Lonely End of the Rink. It's such a laid back album, but it really lacks those huge chorus hooks, doesn't it? So far the only song I can really dig into is Last Recluse.
  20. I find that site to be a major disappointment. I understand the aspect of "community" and playing-nicely-in-the-sandbox, but when there are four or five different tabs per song it's usually because one or more are direly incorrect. I hope I'm not offending anyone, but there is an individual on that site who posts a NUMBER of tabs and I'd estimate that 90% of them are wrong. It's like he's on a mission to be the first one to post Matthew Good tabs, and it taints the lot of them. I've abandoned that web page for just listening to the songs by ear and learning them myself. That's not to say that some of them aren't correct, but there are enough that are incorrect to spoil the lot. As a wiki site people really should just make adjustments and delete the bad eggs.
  21. I think I tend to usually just spend my opinions worth sharing by saying them out loud... to tangible people in my presence. I just don't have time to run to my computer every single time I have a thought worth spreading around. The whole career thing gets in the way as well. I mean, did you see that brain? You can literally see the wheels turning and spitting out brilliance. I actually think I made the MRI tech smarter just by being in the room with her for forty five minutes.
  22. I have no idea how you folks have 10,000+ posts. I've been a member for like five years or something like that. I have less than 500.
  23. In the US, yes, I believe so. You pay for the process and the records of your health, so I believe you should be entitled to keep a copy for yourself.
