Was anyone else INCREDIBLY surprised when they heard his scottish accent? I thought he was joking for the longest time.
-
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? that's BULLSHIT. if they try to pull that in the movie i'm going to be more pissed off than the Trix rabbit.
-
Agreed. And Letterman isn't like Lynch's "Eraserhead." His jokes aren't under the radar or require inside knowledge or only understood by an elite few. There's nothing to get besides his horrendous jokes. However, i'm glad that we can agree Leno is a hack.

i heart you. i heart you even more if you say that you found about them through thelonelyisland.com -
She's Got a New Disguise makes me well up a bit. Not because its particularly moving. It's just got that very sad ambience to it.

Historic Statement From Bush...

Something that's always bothered me: If white people can be called "wonder bread" then what does that make black people? Burnt toast? Because that's just racist. -
I bet he doesn't even know how to play that ukelele

The Trews

I might start listening to the trews when they stop repeating themselves. "I'm tired of waiting...IM TIRED OF WAITING...I....AM TIRRRRED...SO TIRED OF WAITING" "I'm not ready to go! I'm not ready to gooooooooooooooo!" etc... -

I could never ever narrow it down to 5, 10 or even 20. I'm always listening to a wide variety of music. Songs by MG, The Weakerthans, Beck and Okkervil River make it on to them fairly often however. -
Yeah i guess i have to agree with everyone on the avalanche front. Though Pledge of Allegiance and 21st Century Living were pretty darn obvious. To me anyway.

http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=11332 The jist: Topher will be playing Venom, Thomas Haden Church will be playing Sandman, and Kirstin Dunst can't keep her mouth shut.

decent, but i think i might be getting tired of family guy's random segueys. i hope not.

If i had the motivation i'd totally make the site. I have no problem watching him. To quote the old adage "It's like watching a car wreck, its horrible but you just cant turn away." I find humour in his failure. I have to take it in doses and release my limited frustration in internet impersonations:
-
Pros: +Venom is in it. Fucking awesome. Cons: -Eric from That 70's show plays Venom and he may not have the motivation to work out so he can look like Venom's human host. -Sandman is such a shitty villain. But the fact that Venom is in it makes up for everything else. My hopes was for any combination Venom, Carnage, Mysterio, and the Lizard. I was even hoping against hopes for a team of evil like Doc Ok establishes in the comics. However, I am more than satisfied with the movie, simply becuase theyve included venom. Now if only x-men 3 had gambit as a main character...

I feel corny for knowing exactly what you mean. I get the music chills near the end. Even so, i'd still like to hear a full acoustic version.
-
1) All Together (Second Sun was a decent song, but i love All Together way too much) 2) Break In The Rhythm 3) Generation X-Wing(Rooms) 4) Suburbia (can i vote for the live extended suburbia version? because its damn more awesome) 5) So Long Mrs. Smith (i just like it because its more of a personal MG song. im fully expecting it to lose) 6) A Boy and His Machine Gun 7) The Bombmaker 8) A Long Way Down 9) Truffle Pigs
-
What would be the point making an acoustic album of songs that already have an acoustic feel? I was happy to hear the new renditions of Hello Time Bomb and NAFL. It brings variety like an acoustic version should.

Kill The Dark [2001-2006]

I don't give a rat's ass one way or another if a college band releases a "best of" record without being well-known. A band doesn't need to even have airplay to pick and choose which songs they liked the best. Let the man promo. But if i see any penis enlargement or natural remedy ads around here, so help me god... -
I think one of the reasons Matt is no longer accessible in his music career is simply because of his more politically inclined lyrics. Not that accessibility matters in my POV. Just a point. With that said i'm glad he has political lyrics that reflect more of his personal belief system than say a song by green day which is basically made to hitch on the "Fuck Bush! Fuck war! Buy this record!" bandwagon. And yet i know exactly what you're saying. The problem isn't Matt's political leaniancies in music. It's that it's overkill. It comes to a point where you've heard OVERTLY political songs for two records straight. It's reached the point where he's become just as cliche in singing about politics as pop stars that sing about breaking up. He's no longer saying something new in regards to political lyrics. He's just rehashing his old opinions. You may now open fire.
