  1. I still can't believe he pretty much nuked an entire album. It makes me chuckle when I listen to Something Like a Storm. This? He chose to delete THIS? At this point there's enough B-sides they could pretty much fuel at least a couple outstanding albums.
  2. About 6 hours into Uncharted 4. More of the same, but the same is amazing and the graphics may be the finest I've ever seen on a console. I strongly recommend it so far.
  3. There is no scenario I could imagine where this album would be good, but I was very happy to be proven wrong. A year later and I'm still listening to it periodically. And yes, David Usher may have a clone army, because there's no way a man at his age should look that damn good.
  4. I've become very fond of City and Colour over the years. The albums are all strong and it's nice they seem to come out at a consistent pace. He strikes me as similar to Matt in that regard... he's always creating and recording. There's a level of consistent quality there that is very admirable. The latest album didn't grab me right away but (like the best albums) it's grown on me quite a bit.
  5. Man oh man. $95 to see a Matt Good show that might involve having to see Vertical Horizon. Probably going to have to think on that one for a while.
  6. Thanks for this. Always good to have this stuff kicking around.
  7. There's an app for Mac called Capo that I've used to help with tabs, and it's quite awesome. It gives you a waveform (?) of the song and let's you plot "notes" over the guitar parts, and it either gives you the chord or note being played. A lot of it is still dependant on your ear though, so it's not total magic.
  8. I'm about 3/4 through Fire Watch and recommend it despite it being a bit different. It's one of those games that feels a bit like a book in that you don't seem to actually do too much except let the story unfold around you. It's $20 currently and apparently clocks in at about 4 hours, so if that's not your thing then you'll want to avoid. So far the story is cool and it's done a good job of being funny, sad, and creepy.
  9. My favourite thing about this is that he also says "Dave"... almost like Dave was screwing around with the phaser and Matt was trying to get his attention.
  10. So... does anybody want to chat about something that might take about 14 responses to resolve?
  11. So there's a private access area separate from the NF Store? Well I'll be damned.
  12. They have arrived. I guess I need an actual record player now.
  13. It does say more are coming in 2016 at the bottom of the graphic.
  14. Oh man. LOTGA, Raygun, Underdogs, Beautiful Midnight, and Hospital Music. Grand total of nearly $200. http://www.amazon.ca/Beautiful-Midnight-Vinyl-Matthew-Good/dp/B018WTZOSI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449510569&sr=8-2&keywords=matthew+good+band+vinyl
  15. Carme-fn'-Lina. You've got to be shitting me. That would have been something to hear. Anyways, about the poster: I managed to track the guy down who put it up. He's a casual fan that won it somehow and figured there might be a fan bigger than him out there. I thanked him a few times.
  16. Man. The weird things you find at a daycare silent auction.
  17. This is quite an interesting discussion. The topic itself is fine, but what I find amazing is that so many of us were so close together. NonPopulus and his friend were 3 rows ahead of me and Mr. Chips was sitting directly beside me. I totally understand the problem... it was a bit of a perfect storm in that there was a group of people who didn't technically want to stand (they couldn't see) in front of a guy who *really* didn't want them to stand. I stood for a moment, but then realized the people weren't standing behind me, so I sat back down as my desire to stand is less than my desire to not obstruct a view. To be fair, Mr. Chips seemed like a legitimately nice, fun guy. However (and I say this respectfully), his response was quite obnoxious. In my mind it made things a lot worse because those he was yelling at just dug their heels in a little deeper. I didn't clap when NonPopulus' buddy sat down, but admittedly I was relieved because the exchanges were very high on my list of awkward show-ruining experiences. I do hope the lady who eventually spoke up did so in a respectful manner, and it's a shame your buddy was bummed. If anybody has masochistic tendencies, I have ever cringe-inducing moment saved to an mp3 on my phone. That all being said, what a setlist. Matt seemed very engaged and I have to say I love how hard he embraces his inner Gord Downie when he doesn't have a guitar. It adds an element of fun and intensity to the show. It's a real shame the mic cut out during Girls in Black as the build up was about as perfect as it gets, but that's part of the ride I suppose.
  18. Army of Lions might be a favourite. I'm enjoying the lyrics of this album so far but I can't put my finger on why.
  19. I agree with mackie1023, the second half of this album has a Lights-of-Endgangered-Species-feel which makes me quite happy. Very happy with this album after the first listen.
  20. I just noticed Night Orders isn't on the track list. I'm guessing it was dropped, but I'm hoping it was just renamed. I don't think I've enjoyed one of his tracks like that since Non Populus. Girls in Black sounds awesome. Love the spoken word-ish part.
  21. I probably haven't commented on this forum in 10 years, but I wanted to thank you for this. I always appreciate it when people put in time to do this sort of thing.
  22. Can't thank you enough for this. Thanks!
  23. I'm going to go, but I'm with you in the disappointment. Personally I don't really like watching Matt Good shows with people who aren't there to see him specifically. It was cool to see him at Folk Fest because it was populated by a bunch of easy going hippies. Virgin Fest will be thousands of drunk teenagers angrily awaiting Linkin Park . . . I don't know how that's going to go over. My god, I might actually have to go up to *shudder* Edmonton this summer.
  24. Thank you for all your work prosis, greatly appreciated!
  25. i believe it isn't rewinding the whole sample, just the "love is a strong word" phrase.
