  1. HO SHEET thank you for a cleaner copy of Can't Get Shot in the Back, made my week. Easily my favourite track from the Avalanche period.
  2. anybody remember that guy with the puffy hair & red shirt that had the Canadian Tire logo printed on it? I saw him playing hockey in the bar with a friend and getting schooled.
  3. I remember seeing them back in the day opon for some band @ the warehaus in Toronto. I laughed when clear plastic barriers were set up around the drumstick, thinking back to how many bottles rained down upon thier set when they played the sidestage. I give them credit only for sticking it out as long as they have. Whatever marketing team they had defintely faught well, for such and uphill battle. heh, 'little rage against the machine' was an unwarranted parallel I recall being used. and yeah I own thier album as well. '98 was a good year and a bad year.
  4. maybe one of you fine folks could post a YouSendIt link here...? I've wondered what it sounds like for a few years.
  5. Pumped for season 4. I don't get excited for tv often. Unless it's Discovery!
  6. my gf digs it, we casually watch it a few times a month. It's decent.
  7. Hold up, Rob Roy? That was fine entertainment! Great twist at the end, the sword grabbing and all.
  8. Darth Vader- Who Gives A Sith?
  9. yeah, but it sounds like pre-LOTGA!
  10. hahah, i know i shore can't!
  11. a buddy of mine from work said the tour was great... i said 'great.' then i went back to thinking about neutral milk hotel.
  12. I need a few more buck to get 'can't get shot in the back'
  13. the last time OLP rocked my socks off was the track 'all my friends' on spiritual machines. nothing buh MEH, MEH, and plenty more MEH since. And wtf were they thinking releasing a live album? Studio band.
  14. Anyone else feel that All Together sounds more like a pre-LOTGA tune than an AOB b-side? More musically than lyrically...?
  15. i want more NF$.
  16. Wow. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I respect the intense focus, the sense of urgency, especially in the quieter songs. I found it to be quite cathartic... it's definitely affected the way i'll attempt to write music in future, and allowed for fresh perspective on what i've done in the past.
  17. yeah, suburbia for sure 'you can be art when we melt'
  18. he's played it at two shows that i've seen. completely brings the song into this stage of his career. i love the line 'you get a job, the job gets you'
  19. I find most of his songwriting to be romantic in nature. There's such an urgency in his choice of words, and of course his inflection when delivering vocally. I tend to place his work within some of the confines that describe romanticism (strongly emotional, imaginative, the rejection and undermining of social/political convention). That's what keeps me comin' back!
  20. ... i know that some people have heard of NMH through itunes online radio recently...
