Release The Full Massey Hall Acoustic Recordings!

no probs, thanks for the pics to work with folks. I threw together a 'back' with track listing for kicks. Anyone else feel the urge to sing 'Say it ain't sooo ah whoah-a-whoah!' when he gets into playing the chords of 99%? -
Well possibly, with a lot more work. It sounds like a demo, knaw me say?

http://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/index....5955&st=260 there's a link halfway down the page, is it no longer functional?

It's in the pinned upload thread. I'm trying to decipher the mumbling verses, and they're just coming out an incoherent mess. Maybe they're not complete lyrics at all, could just be freestyled to get the melody out.

Wax Mannequin ~ End of Me The streets of Vancouver are flooded With the blood of the sleepwalking dead Dreamed we walked on this river together His greasy hands pulled us in 'bove our heads This land's ancient insides are burning The fiery pine needle cooks her bones Told me if I burn bright like she does Come winter I won't make it home So follow me out through grey rain, and darker doubt Follow me back, coals are red, soles are black Said you'd follow me to the end of the earth But the end of me is bound to come first Calgary's gold is someone's curse Seen the good life get better as the livin' gets worse Came to you oil rich and angry But the power weighed more than it's worth So you follow me west to keep fire off my chest And you follow me east to console the icy beast Said you follow me to the end of the earth But the end of me is bound to come first Lady; I know that's a life that's a long for (unintelligible) I'd have waited for you if I can Folks says there's a good flood that's coming And I've seen the drowning's begun This river has swept up your man The fires of Saint John never ended In us punks, in us drunks it still burns And though Irving has bought up our body We're not going to sell him our word So you follow me east to control the icy beast And you follow me west to put fire back in my chest Said you follow me to the end of the earth But the end of me is bound to come first Oh you follow me out through grey rain, and darker doubt Follow me back Coals are red, feet burned black Said you follow me to the end of the earth But the end of me's bound to come first You said you'd carry me But this river is grown This river is carrying us home

I guess both could work, tho I prefer the first, with less awkward type. -

Okay I'm sold on this song as a single. The fruity opening riff was a hurdle, but I for one am way past it. from 'here we go!' onward just rocks my socks. I love this album.

Don't see the typo on my copy, which also arrived today (BOOYAH!). I ordered during the second vinyl preorder.

I've tried them a few times, not sticking. I like it okay, but won't listen to it regularly. I had a chance to see them for free last week, and passed; that is the ultimate pass for me as I go to at least 3 shows a week. -
This isn't the only silly typo in an MG release. There are quite a few, and some actual lyrics omitted from, the huge booklet included with Audio of Being. Honestly, someone should post what is to go to print in the forum and let the fans give it a once over - no one cares more than we do, hah!

Hah I've done the same thing twice, once with a friend. It blew her mind.
-
Great choices - I prefer Bitte Orca, and Dear Science tho

Not a fan of 'We're So Heavy'? Really? 'Ex-Pats' is a pretty damn good ride too.

Why didn't I know about this... damn.

I listened the album start to finish a few days ago (like really listened) and there are parts where I think 'Matt has GOT to be high as a kite to come up with this'. I really, really really really miss the crunchy vitality of those drums from his latest releases. Long Way Down, Near Fantastica, such incredible percussion... -
Try this: Kill the left audio channel during the intro. It removes the acoustic guitar entirely, so it's just matt's vocals and the lead. The song is instantly better; it removes the initial 'fruitiness' and presents the song bare-bones. So good. I'm going to garage band right now...

This was a helluva tough process of elimination! It's really not possible to have a coherent setlist that includes all your favourites, but I managed to squeeze a lot of them in. It would be incredible if they were able to have a small string section on tour as well, that would definitely affect selections and sequence. So we're nearing the end of another decade. Holy shit, where did it go? Weren't the 90's like yesterday? As such, my friends and I got discussing our favourites of each decade last week, and though many albums came to mind, narrowing down ten was difficult. It hurts to leave so many out (sorry OK Computer and Kid A), but here are my personal faves. 00's Constantines - Constantines (2001) Dears - No Cities Left (2003) Dears - Gang of Losers (2006) Matthew Good - Avalanche (2003) Matthew Good - White Light Rock n

Given Matt's most recent post regarding the upcoming tour, I thought it would be fun to ask what songs you would choose, in what order, with Matt's specs of 6-7 Vancouver songs, and 7-9 back catalogue tracks. I haven't put a list together yet, but please share yours. Who knows, he may read this thread at some point and take notes.
