Y'see Adam, there's this ancient language on the verge of extinction called Latin. You should be somewhat familiar with it as you dabble in various phrases here and there; however a parot can dabble with simple sound patterns in its environment as well.

English and German aren't Romance language. German is Germanic, English comes from the other languages of the British Isles... even though they all use the same Latin letter system. That was thanks to some much-needed Roman ass-whoopings.

 

I'm just saying you used a phrase that specifically came from a Harry Potter novel, whether English, Latin, or Portuguese.

I haven't read them. I used to have a friend who was obsessed with Harry Potter and Emma Watson back in 8th grade. He would obsess over every last detail of the books and talk about all the stupid spells they used.

 

Sad thing is, his Latin pronunciation was all wrong.
