I am just wondering if there are any Pearl Jam fans around here because it seems my days coming up involve a lot of Matt and Pearl Jam. It's turning out to be a pretty sweet spring!

I caught 4 shows on the canadian tour. That put the old PJ count up to 10 matching my matt good shows. I have both waterloo shows lined up and 2 PJ shows lined up too so they are neck and neck. Can't Wait!!

I am a Pearl Jam from way back.

Seen them live a number of times.

Best show I ever seen was Buffalo 2003: 33 songs total, 3 encores, 3.5 hours.

I really think Eddie Vedder is one of the best lyrics writers also.

EDIT: Mike McCready is one of the most underrated guitar players also.

i was only a casual fan of the band but when i saw them in Saskatoon back in September it bumped me up to "serious fan" status. One of the best live shows i've ever seen.

i agree COMPLETELY. mike mccready is incredible, and i've always thought eddies lyrics were spectacular.

but wow, that must have been some show. closest i've come to seeing them live is their touring band dvd. i'm hoping to see them when they make their usual stop at alpine valley on the next tour.

The show I was the 2nd to last show of the 1st leg of the Spring 2003 tour. The next show was at State College (the cd is for sale at stores), and featured 39 songs. Making it one of the longest shows in the bands history.

For the 3rd encore, as everyone was leave, cuz the house lights were on, the band came out, and played with the house lights on. I have never seen a band do that before. Mikes solo in Yellow Ledbetter was loud, distored, and utterly amazing.

I have that bootleg and it's freaking incredible. The highlight of my summer was going on an airplane from Detroit to Phoenix and listening to that bootleg for approx. three hours (the length of the plane ride). I swear, when we were just about to land, the third disc ended.

CORRECTION: Phoenix to Detroit.

I'm a huge pearl jam fan as well. I have that bootleg too, and it's great, but it pisses me off to no end because I transfered to PennState the fall after that spring concert, and my NON-pearl-jam-fan friends got to go to that concert for about 10$ (the cost of a student ticket).

Live is coming here though in 2 weeks and i get to see them for 10$ so that is some compensation, and i'm seeing PJ in Philly, although that ticket is a tad bit more pricey than the student ticket.

i love pearl jam, but i loathe the new song, Worldwide Suicide.

Really isn't that good.

In fact, I'd go far enough to say it's a bad, mediocre song.

Pearl Jam can, and should do better.

I'm still gonna pick up the new album, I hope it's better, as a whole, than WWS

My bf is big fan so I follow his fan statis to a lesser degree.

I like worldwide suiside. Sounds older.

The disc as a whole flows so well. You will all be impressed with all of the songs come May 2. WWS is not an indication of the whole cd even though I think that song kicks some ass when you have it cranked up loud.

Did anyone here check out Saturday Night Live this weekend? They did WWS and another new song - Severed Hand, which was rather amazing, I felt.

Nothing beats that Debbie Downer skit they had, or the stellar Weekend Update (/w Weather Report).
