It really does depend on what you're going for. For serious guitar pyrotechnics, an Ibanez and the right pedals will churn out so pretty amazing stuff...personally, Strats and Les Pauls sound more soulful.

I'm excellent, living on my own has turned out to be even better than I thought. So much fun. Now I should be doing my homework because I have nothing to do today but I can't really bring myself to do it

Haha, well I don't actually live all by myself, I have a roommate which also happens to be my best friend. But she's gay too so we completely understand each other haha

hey now, this thread is supposed to be about whammy's!! just kidding.

Ok i didn't think this had a slot for a whammy. I like the Ibanez because i play mostly hard rock & metal.

What i'm looking for in a guitar is a black Ibanez electric that has 24 frets, a whammy bar, dot inlays on the fretboard (as opposed to those fancy lightning bolts etc.), and 2 pickups/hambuckers (i don't like having a pickup in the middle as it interferes with my strumming). And its gotta be at a decent price preferebly (ie: $150-350 range).

Can anyone find me a guitar like that? I've found one but it only has 22 frets.

ltd probably also has something similar in the same price range.

edit: however, all the ones in that price range i've seen from schecter and ltd that have a floyd rose (tremelo) aren't mahogany, like the one you posted. they're all agathis or basswood. i dunno about ibanez.

Nothing beats going to a music store and just try out a bunch of different guitars, you'll know which guitar is the right one once you play it.

To be honest, before I got my electic guitar I'd go and drool over at guitar stores. But since I got it, I don't need anything else, it was love at first sight and we're still very much in love ;)
