This has been bugging me for a few days now -- in what song does Matt chant "can't fear fear, fear is the mind killer?"

 

I was 99% sure that it was Near Fantastica, but I listened to all the versions I have and read the lyrics, and the line didn't appear in any of them.

 

Any help appreciated!

Near Fantastica was correct...It's not in the lyrics. Occurs at 4:23 on the album version.

Ahh. That would explain it... I was listening to the mp3 version I downloaded which was probably the radio edit or something... I'd better look for my Avalanche CD (I misplaced it recently ;))

The album version is 8 minutes long, so it probably was a radio edit. Come to think of it, I don't recall hearing that part the one time I heard it on the radio.

Not the one I heard. Didn't have the kinda quiet 40+ second intro, or the kinda breakbeat-ish drumline at the beginning...and it definately wasn't 8 minutes long.

The radio edit was shortened I believe was it not Pavan? Like sparq said, the 40 second jam session wasn't included though the dune quote was in it.

Hmm... I didn't know this topic would stir so much controversy.. to clear a few things up (hopefully): the version I got is not a radio edit -- it does have the line in it, but I didn't have the volume high enough to hear it. For some reason I didn't remembering him whispering. But then, I don't have the world's greatest memory.
