  1. Chrono Trigger is good, but I think it's a bit overrated. I was playing it again recently, and there's this part that made no sense. You rescue Marle and are back in current time when and you run into the forest from the guards who think you've abducted her, and you go through a portal to the future. Now, when you arrive in the delapidated future, the portal is STILL THERE. You can go back in, the guards are gone, and you could all go about your merry lives. There's no incentive to explore this grungy gross and potentially dangerous biodome, and your party doesn't know about Lavos yet. Chrono Cross is a fantastic game, but the it was just waaaaaay too easy. There is literally not a single challenging fight in that entire game, which sort of ruined it a bit for me. But you're right about the plot and music; both are very compelling.
  2. On Final Fantasies: 1, 2, 3: Never played 4: Amazing. One of the better ones, due to the awesome characters. Who doesn't love Cecil, Rydia, Palom and Porom, etc? Plus, it has the "Spoony Bard!" line. 5: Decent. The job system is fun, but the storyline was sort of lame. 6: Another triumphant game, for the same reasons as 4. Kefka is also one of the most badass villains ever. 7: Fantastic. I tried playing it again recently and got a little bit bored by the slow beginning though. One of the greatest storylines ever, and the music/scenes can make me very nostalgic. 8: I really really don't like this game. The storyline is effing retarded, and is all over the place. "OMG! We're all from the same orphanage!" Oh, and monsters come from the moon. Dumbest explanation ever. The best thing about this game was by far the card game, which is sort of a bad place to be. 9: A little slow, but very fun and a little bit challenging in some spots (whereas every other modern Final Fantasy after 5 is waaaaay too easy.) 10: I dug it. It wasn't the best game ever, but it was certainly enjoyable. Voice acting sucked. 10-2: One word. Vegnagun. W....T....F? 11: Never played. 12: I have a save with my party in the last dungeon, and I've had it for probably a year. I have NO desire to finish this game. The plot sucked, the characters sucked, etc etc. Battling and gambits were pretty sweet, liscences were kind of stupid, etc.
  3. I'm sharing this band because I'm really enjoying the style, and I figured a lot of people here would really dig it as well. Some of you will probably hate it, but hopefully one or two people discover this awesome band. The entire album is in this eerie sort of style and is quite good.
  4. It just occured to me that I should have included Emily Haines in this poll. Would have been a tad more interesting with 3 competitors.
  5. The album "Hybrid" by Elsiane Edit: My bad, this came out in 07. But check it out anyway.
  6. An incredibly well done rap video by corporate nerds about computers:
  7. Wall-E, which I got for Christmas. Fantastic.
  8. For some reason I keep getting logged out, and it's saying I'm flood-controlled even though it's been WAY longer than 20 seconds since I've posted.
  9. Holy shit, did you guys see the juniors yesterday vs Russia? Amazing game. Tied it up in the 3rd with 5 seconds left. Eberle is a friggin hero.
  10. Wow....that's rough. It reminds me of my university's football team. We haven't won a game in over 3 seasons.
  11. Josh Ritter - The Temptation of Adam
  12. Very tough between Wikipedia and Facebook. I love youtube, but not as much, and I've never used Netflix. I voted wikipedia in the end.
  13. Am I the only one who loves the shit out of this song? I can almost guarantee that when the vocals come in you will get excited. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWLuqly6uCQ
  14. Their songs are too long for me.
  15. God is an Astronaut (instrumental, climactic ambient music, a la Explosions in the Sky/Mogwai) Justice (Electric dance) Portishead (Trip hop) Bell X1 (Indie rock) Rilo Kiley (Indie rock) Wintersleep (rock) Sondre Lerche (Indie rock/jazz) Woodhands (electronic/dance) Wilco (indie rock) Album Leaf (slow and ambient laptop techno)
  16. The big ticket items are a Hepa Filter for my room (I think my house may have mold, and I've been a sick motherfucker for the past few months), a digital camera, and some magic cards. I also got a ton of books, some random gift cards, lots of socks, etc (I have a really big family). Yesterday was also my 4th consecutive Christmas dinner in a row (Dad, Mom, Step dad, girlfriend), so I'm currently a plus-sized Owen.
  17. Bush - Altered States
  18. LOL! Wow, that was fantastic. I've never eaten rabbit on Easter, but I did have duck last year. Still sort of cute, I guess. With that said, rabbit is delicious, and Wolverine is the shit. Especially when Hugh Jackman (more like JACKEDman! holy shit) is rocking him.
  19. Bahahaha! That was amazing.
  20. Amazing. Thanks Anton!
  21. I dunno if all of these will even be there, but check em out: God is an Astronaut - Suicide by Star Bell X1 - My First Born for a Song Feist - The Limit to Your Love Pavement - Newark Wilder Sondre Lerche - No One's Gonna Come Almost all of those songs are universally unjoyable, unless you don't like instrumental bands (God is an Astronaut) or Feist's singing style. The Sondre Lerche track is beyond fabulous.
  22. The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music? Justice - A Cross the Universe Woodhands - Heart Attack That's all I got. Nearly every album I wanted to write was released in the summer of 07.
