  1. "And yo, I used to get a threesome every other weekend cheated on mah girl till we nearly stopped speakin` She broke down and cried and it hurt so bad Her friends went and told her I was a brand new dad Of course, she knows now I ain't use no bag My excuse? I just couldn't cum like that." ~GFK
  2. Especially because you just blindly post them everywhere and then don't follow the rules of the thread and comment on the song above you. Sort of like how reviewing the CD you were sent was just too much work.
  3. Land of Talk: awesome indie band from Canada. This song is very chill, and they have a lot of easy listening type stuff along these lines, but they also have some rockin` upbeat tracks where the singer takes an extremely different vocal style (almost yelpy in places, but it's good.) I just picked up both of their albums last night, so I'm not 100% sold yet, but my initial impression is that they rock. The reason I'm sharing such a laid-back song instead of something a little more exciting is just because it's the first song I heard, and the video is utterly gorgeous. As for the No Age you posted, Ryan, I did really dig it, but not enough to want to explore their catalog. The vocals are a weak spot for me.
  4. The setlist looks fine. I'm more sick of Apparitions than anything else.
  5. Already posted in the other Halloween topic, but here I am again:
  6. She's the real deal. I recommend grabbing "Middle Cyclone" and "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood." Interesting instrumentation, solid lyrics, and a killer voice. Plus, she can keep it short and sweet. Listen and love:
  7. I agree that A Weekend in the City is a little bit Coldplay-ish. But that doesn't stop Hunting for Witches from being totally bitchin`. Edit: Also: how the fuck is Intimacy their least critically praised album?
  8. There are few things that feel as good as punching someone in the face. Hook to the cheek...BAM!
  9. I am shocked at the lack of Chromeo's "Fancy Footwork" on here. C'MON PEOPLE! EVERYONE loves Chromeo! It'd be like neglecting Discovery by Daft Punk!
  10. Borntohula is being a bit harsher than I am, but I agree with many of the comments, particularly the criticisms of the vocal style and repetitive drumming. I thoroughly enjoy the album, but it's literally almost all on the back of On Nights Like Tonight and a few other tracks that stand out. There are a few guitar sections that just sound odd: the intro to Us Remains Impossible for instance. The guitar tone seems sloppy and overly high. I actually really like this album, but there are a few choices made concerning its production that I feel take away from what could have made it even better.
  11. I thought this topic was going to be about the weird semi-hip hop group The Avalanches. WRONG BOARD MEG!! Though I guess you have a valid excuse hahaha.
  12. Checked out my usual hangouts, but haven't been able to find myself yet. Even still, this is cool as HELL.
  13. Listening to Fought to Fight It, Matt changed something from the demo: he no longer says "Here they come again: those million ears to deafen it all out." Both times he drops the line "those million voices looking to get out." Disappointing ;) But listening to the album in CD format rather than the stream rocks
  14. The vocals drive me crazy. I just can't get into this band.
  15. She's Got a New Disguise all the way. Vermillion vs. 21st Century Living
  16. I dislike both, but I'll say Weapon. Prime Time Deliverance vs. Apparitions
  17. I like White Light more than Avalanche, and maybe more than HM. It's a well paced album with a lot of great tracks, as well as a few that don't excite me (Poor Man's Gray and Buffalo 7)
  18. Nice! I'm not a Metallica fan, but I imagine that they'd but on quite a show show, and I'm glad you had a good night. Catching the pick is just gravy.
  19. Wow. You looked stunning Beth. A glowing bride!
  20. 21st Century Living, especially the sweet live versions w/o the chatter. Battle of pre-MGB awesomeness! The Ocean vs. Parable
  21. The problem with this thread is that whenever you post, you're buying into the illusion that someone cares. Anyway, Truffle Pigs.
  22. Gorgeous picture Beth. You two look very happy. Congratulations ;)
  23. I'm reading The Inferno, and so far the most gorgeous stanza has been in the very first canto: "And like a miser-eager in aquisition but desperate in self reproach when Fortune's wheel turns to the hour of his loss-all tears and attrition"
  24. New Years in up ther,e but I think my fav on the record is "Make It Gold"
  25. It's alll in how you DISSSIPAAATETETED!!! GREAT WHALESA FO THE SEAQ!!!!
