  1. hahaha there's something about naming britny fox in the same sentence as the clash that i can't help but laugh at. i want to add eddie murphy to the list, but i kinda like "party all the time." same goes for WHAM! but "wake me up" and "careless whisper" are far too awesome for me to disregard. also, just because i think u2 were the worst band of the 80s doesn't mean i didn't enjoy their output in the 90s. achtung baby, zooropa and pop are all fantastic albums that are much more artistic and interesting than anything they put out in the 80s (or the 00s, for that matter).
  2. no, not really. saying u2 is the worst band from the 80s is like saying that u2 is the worst band of the 80s. sure, i could probably think of a lot of bands who were worse, but what's the fun in that? i'll add another few: tears for fears. depeche mode. the sex pistols marked the end of 'larger than life bands'?? like who? david bowie is pretty larger than life, and '77 was his heyday. and nirvana did the same? didn't 'larger than life bands' like pearl jam and alice n chains (two bands that also had their beginnings playing 80s hair-metal) benefit from the over-hyped success of their fellow alt-rockers? i don't mean to be a dick with all these questions, but i just don't really get your line of thinking.
  3. i have. it's better than i expected, but i don't know what to think of it yet. "chemtrails" sucks balls hard, though.
  4. wow! that's awful. he was great in stargate, but i really loved him in twin peaks.
  5. well you'd think that someone with such great taste in music would be able to qualify that statement a bit better. why does he think that they're important, and yet a sucky band? sucky as in, they weren't good at their instruments? they didn't have many good songs? and if so, why are they still important? i'd say that u2 are the worst band from the 80s.
  6. you mean the conner brothers? one is in a band called VALIS and the other, amanita caterpillar. i think they're on myspace.
  7. they can be. i'm just saying that it's a trend.
  8. no i'm not. if i hear another uk band with jangly guitars and a quasi-witty singer, imma fuckin puke. they can go to music hell along with the arctic monkeys.
  9. gross. no one cares about him. he's trapped in 90s nostalgia along with marcy playground and fastball.
  10. SOOOOO MUUUCHHH LAGGGGGGGGGG (not really)
  11. i've listened to it once so far and have no fucking clue what you're all on about.
  12. no problem boblem. glad i could help.
  13. what do those question marks beside the cover of hospital music mean? next albums?
  14. thanks guys. come to think of it, i never thought it could be the hinges... that's not a bad thing to look into.
  15. the problem is i travel with it a lot, so shutting the lid is necessary, and having it hibernate when i do so means that i don't need to close programs or interrupt what i'm doing.
  16. do it. postal service are slightly better IMO. death cab are far too earnest and serious, to the point where it either sounds boring or absurd. music for people who wet the bed, i say.
  17. hi there folks, i was wondering if i could get some outside opinions on this. i've got an HP pavilion dv6000 running windows vista. i have it set so that when i close the lid, it goes into a hibernate mode. lately, however, it hasn't actually been doing that. i'll close the lid and go somewhere else, and come back to find that the computer hasn't started shutting itself down yet. then i'll try to open the lid to put it into hibernate manually in windows, except all i'm left with is a black screen-- the same kind of black screen i get when the computer has overheated. ok so i realize that this might mean that the computer has overheated, but i don't understand, because it'll be perfectly fine when i close it. i had never had this problem when i first started using my laptop... it's only something that's been happening recently. i don't think i'm doing anything differently now than i was doing then. so is the problem with vista? because it's not putting the computer into hibernate mode properly? or is it the computer itself that's the issue? (only after i bought my laptop did i hear that HP's products have a tendency to fuck up a lot)
  18. i can totally picture myself rocking out to "apparitions" on difficult.
  19. religious fanatics. being dumped.
  20. yes meg, please just get winrar.
  21. saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. the other dude's songs just sound too much like his other projects... although they're starting to grow on me. zoomer is a fucking grrrreat album.
  22. yeah i'm glad he's had some time to collect himself a bit and isn't letting what happened bug him too much. he's a great musician and it's unfortunate that some of his fan base is comprised of total lunkheads, but i suppose that's a reality one faces when they've been in the public consciousness for so long. thankfully he's been able to stick through it and continues to impress us with great music and awesome performances.
  23. people are idiots. it was raining so goddamn hard. even if there was no lighting, that show would've been miserable. i can't believe people are complaining about matt in regards to a situation that was completely out of his control. i was floored when people were booing at the announcement that the show had to be postponed. who do they think they are?
  24. yup, data's cat. draw Q or beverly crusher plz.
