  1. I love Tom Cruise (but acknowledge his current insanity) and I'm not too fond of Hitler, but I'm still overjoyed that this thread came into existance. I want you to know that I'm going to celebrate it annually.
  2. Yay for borntohula. And also Fiddle and the Drum is my favourite cover off of that album, even though I don't know the original.
  3. What the shit is Pho? It's 5 in the morning, why am I still awake?
  4. I've only got one failure cd on my computer so i'd be itnerested too id anyone feels like sending it my way.
  5. Two seasons as far as I know. I'm not sure if they ran one after the other though, because there was a switch from CBC to Showcase.
  6. I'm going home for the weekend for mums birthday and to rock out in the snow. You can spell any word in giant letters on a hill facing your town. What word do you put there?
  7. Whatever song gives me the most amount of time to explain my premature ejaculation. In regards to Closer, it's not about sex, it's about the character, who happens to like him some sex. The interpretation of the song I like most suggest that the getting closer to god thing isn't about the spiritual nature of sex, but about the control aspect that that particular character experiences. It's about sex addiction and the flawed nature of using it as a means of escape, and if you look at the album as one story, not a series of songs, than it is one of the contributing factors to the characters downfall. I like NIN. Or something like that.
  8. Yah that Imagine cover was a great one. The best I can think of.
  9. Especially if the weather changes the tiniest little bit. People just seem to forget how to drive.
  10. The humiliations are horrible. In that link I posted the humiliation is ruining the end of Unbreakable to a line up of people about to watch it.
  11. Yah I second It's All Gone Pete Tong and Falling Down. I'd also like to add To Live and Die in LA.
  12. Off the top of my head I'd agree with you. I can't think of many other covers that are as good as that one. Except maybe some Annie Lenox ones. Talking about Hurt.
  13. Yah, what about the kind you need to get out with a knife? We had some of that at my house once and I didn't take any notice. Then one day my friend taught me how to make shitty grilled cheese sandwiches (no grilling) and when i went to get the ketchup he stopped me and busted out the good caesar. It was incredible.
  14. Elvis is right. In a retirement home. With JFK. Who's black. Fighting a mummy. Starring Bruce Cambell.
  15. Wooooooooooooah fight him!
  16. My bad, I guess the search feature doesn't much like me. And yah youre right about the time for those with Showcase. And according to something Anton saidi n the other thread it was mentioned before that one. The gods really want people to watch this I guess. P.S. Blame the internet for my two threads.
  17. ChungKing Express. And Equilibrium. And Bubba Ho-tep.
  18. I looked but couldn't find any recent threads on this, so here goes. Anywone watch this show. I watched it for the first tiem this week. For those who don't know, two best friends, Kenny and Spenny, engage in a different competition each week. For example this week was to see who could go the longest without speaking. As far as I can tell, the show is brilliant. Anyone else agree? If anyone wants a taste of the show, go to their site or watch this. I think it's a pilot or short film or something.
  19. The Jack and Merle Show as I understand it is a fake radio show that Matt and his friend, who plays the character of Merle and had a blog called merlethepearl, which was pretty funny. The two played two grumpy old men, there were two or three episodes. More of an inside joke I think. Bon Tempo is a joke band consisting of Matt and Rich. In my opinion the songs are hilarious, but it seems like a lot of it is more inside humour. Ryan, as stated, is the frontman of LimbLifter, as well as the now defunct Age of Electric. When LL were touring with Matt on the Put Out Your Lights tour they seemed to become good friends. They made three recordings, under what would come to be known as Jackpillowhead (though this was just the name of the site they secretly released songs from, and had been used by Matt as a secret site for a while. Also a lot of in humour with these two, but the songs are definately worth checking out. I'm productive at 8:30 in the morning.
  20. People and their power trips are probably the worst thing in the world. If I were you, I'd start sending a letter about how you hate this person to somewhere in Northern Canada every day, each with the same 'mistake,' then on the one year aniversary of this event, kidnap him, dress him in a monkey suit, and send him in a giant Loony Tunes style crate to the same adress you've been sending the letters. Good idea? Bad idea?
  21. In response to your question, no. I don't do drugs. There's not a lot to do in a grocery store for five hours when no one is forcing you to. Also I was on heroin at the time. Now, on the issue of toast. I myself tend to toast my sandwiches whenever possible, but I have often found it is more trouble than it's worth. First of all, the wait time. Then there's also the risk of over or under toasting your toast. There is also of course the mouth injuring nature toast can sometimes take. But my issue lies with the construction of sandwiches using toast. Very often my sandwiches take a long time to make, I put my heart and soul into them. This tends to give rise to a little problem known as toast sweat. By the time I've constructed my feast and placed the top slice on, the bottom of the toast has become boarderline soggy, just enough for me to notice. More often than not this his led me to the contemplation of suicide. Fortunately, I only every commited suicide because of toast like, twice, but my point still stands. While I prefer it in certain sandwiches, it can be more trouble than it's worth. And another thing! What's this about mayo not being the coolest?! Come on! Mayo!
  22. When I worked in a grocery store I discovered it one day and stared at it for my entire five hour shift. Who knew they made a condiment whos sould purpose is to spread on sandwiches.
  23. That's just cool. You're a celebrity.
