most of his lyrics are ambiguous. i like it that way though. it's obviously a relationship song. I always saw "sparkling spot" as meaning intrigue or general happiness. you know how people say they "felt a spark".

Religion Itself Is The Fount Of Most Evil
heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Haha.Oh wow. Go ahead and correct the one or two sentences I inadvertently screwed up. don't be mad because you're too dumb to constructively criticize my comments. I completely understand religions, more than most religious people. The point I was making was that you need to be picky and choosy if you're going to attempt at rationalizing your metaphysical beliefs. It's widely accepted that religious beliefs are irrational. that's not even an argument. religious people accept existential laws sometimes and sometimes not. They'll dither and dather if it helps them feel secure. I've read many parts of the New Testament. So what? it's a book of morals. When people question religion from a philisophical standpoint the reply is often filled with scripture quotes. That is really indicative of the fact that they can't see the forest through the trees. They are incapable of seeing religion on a philosophical level. e.g. Why would a benevolent god arbitrarily condemn innocents to hell? response: "jesus loves you", or "John hearded the sheep out to pasture". That sounds silly but it's pretty much how the argument goes. They have no critical thinking skills. I realize that I sound like an ass when I saw all religious people are unintelligent.I just find that that kind of primitive ignorance is inexcusable. You are really saying something about yourself when you admit to being religious. Admitting belief in god is to admit a complete lack of critical judgement. -
Religion Itself Is The Fount Of Most Evil
heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
The entire religious world randomly "picks and chooses" rationale in order to rationalize their ridiculous beliefs. It's the nature of the beast. That's what sustains religion. Therefore, There's zero point in differentiating between and categorizing religious persons based on how they practice being naive. Whether or not you're a zealot, your policies are going to be harmful if you've crossed and line and decided to be intellectually unreasonable. Just as you wouldn't bestow your idiot little bother with authority in the household, you shouldn't elect into power any pious morons who're intellectually imature. When I become supreme dictator of the world I'm going to hoard irrationalist christians, muslims, buddhists etc into detainment centers where they will be psychologically evaluated and treated. this will isolate them and prevent them from spreading stupidity aswell as interfering with intelligent society. The economy will boom and I will be a god.It will become a crime to be stupid. -
Fearless Apparitions let's get it on (almost) Truffle pigs The fine are of falling apart Bright end of nowhere <- I got sick of it here It's been a while since I was your man This strum pattern was a key feature in a song that inspired me to learn guitar, although, I think it's time to retire this baby, as much as I've enjoyed it. Matt,if you've written a song containing this strum pattern for the new album, please replace it with... a piano ballad. I want to hear more piano. Not that you'd give a fuck about what I have to say.Thankyou.

Mg Looks Like Mark Prior (the Baseball Pitcher)
heyrabbit replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
I don't see a resemblance. Although, I bet there's a resemblance between prior and moonlight graham. -
I want to see that too.

I want to see War of the Worlds. have you seen that yet? tomkat baby!

Sure. which one?

I implied that he was gay because he fits the profile. I don't understand why that irks you so much and quite frankly I don't care. Perhaphs you fit the profile aswell and you took my comments personally. I don't know. I don't know you but based on what I've read I couldn't care less about what you think of me. None of your comments lead me to believe you're particularily intelligent. You seem to be generally uninteresting and immature. And you wouldn't hit me lol.

Religion Itself Is The Fount Of Most Evil
heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Oh dear. Good job for me you don't have to be religious to be pretentious or naive; that's evident in your case. Nevermind Iraq, Chechnya,Israel,North Ireland and sudan - the admittedly religious disputes - take a look at every other territorial dispute or totalitarian government. You'll find that the majority of the authorities in these disputes are religious. Hence, their decisions are largely influenced by their naive ness. The Iraq war has as little to do with religion as the United States have to do with Iraqi sovereignty. IT'S ABOUT SECUREING NATURAL RESOURCES. The insurgents have even less to do with religion. As I said before in an earlier quote: -
hypocrite. I don't call everyone I don't like fags, only the gay ones.

Ha ha.Oh my, that came out of left field. I must have struck a nerve. Care to elaborate on that? Please enlighten me; why do you think I'm a retard?

Religion Itself Is The Fount Of Most Evil
heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
The majority of your reply didn't make any grammatical sense whatsoever but I'll respond as well as I can. You're supposed to deduct things that don't make sense in deductive reasoning. Nice try, though. religion IS for the pretentious and naive. These ARE baseless, rhetorical comments.Inspite of the fact that you didn't support your opinions, it really doesnt matter anyway. There's a reason why you didn't bother supporting your comments; you can't. Not stating your rationale does not make me ignorant but it makes you look ignorant. Nah. I knew what you were saying. Nevermind Iraq, Chechnya,Israel,North Ireland and sudan - the admittedly religious disputes - take a look at every other territorial dispute or totalitarian government. You'll find that the majority of the authorities in these disputes are religious. Hence, their decisions are largely influenced by their naiveness. Atleast you admit you have no idea what logic is, not that I didn't know that already. -
Religion Itself Is The Fount Of Most Evil
heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Your thesis statement is "rediculous". With all due respect, your response was incoherent, vague and generalizing. Your opinions on the matter are conducive to the same silly pretentiousness and naiveness that causes religion. I suppose it's not suprising that someone who disagrees with this article such as yourself would be spouting baseless, socialist, and popular rhetoric. Unlike your response, this author supports her opinions and she actually makes a lot of sense. It doesn't matter whether or not it was "in tune with how you feel". It's in tune with how I think aswell as anyone else who bothers to or who is capable of thinking. And ultimately that's the point that she was trying to make which you obviously missed; the evasion of thought by the religious have caused so much bloody unnecessary deaths. Terrorism is only a percentage of the deaths caused by mass ignorance. Evil is a word. logically, she can use it in an article to express an idea. -
just because it's slapstick humor doesn't mean the jokes have to be low-brow, boring and poorly delivered. Good jokes are inherently clever and intellectually smilulating whether they are simple, subtle or complicated. There's a reason why we smile, open our mouths and laugh. And although some jokes may appear on the surface to be simple, they're not. There are many factors that determine what makes a joke funny. I could go on stage and read a chris rock act without getting any reaction. why? because his jokes are cleverly delivered with the words he chooses, facial expressions and the tone of his voice. That's why Will ferrel can sit there 'acting' out a 40 year old and it's not funny.obnoxious humor has to be believable to be funny. When will sat there and yelled "Ma get me some meatloaf!" in his monotone blurt he didn't change his facial expressions, he didn't sound like he was asking for it and he didn't ACT. if a real actor did that scene it would have been funny. For the same reasons, Raymonds dad on Everybody loves Raymond isn't funny. The character is supposed to be obnoxious, NOT the actor. Saying the lines without any effort makes the actor seem obnoxious, lazy and boring. Jim carey is a great example of an obnoxious-style comedian because he's able to come off as being convincing. If you don't act what you have is something like Vince vaughan saying a bunch of words that's supposed to be a joke but it's not funny.

heyrabbit replied to supercanuk's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
No.you've missed the point. that's exactly what she was arguing against. They are one in the same. Stupid people ARE religion and religion is stupid people. Religion is not an independant entity;quite to the contrary. it takes a great many people to make a religion viable.by the same token you cannot say "war is not the problem it's the people who partake in it". religion wouldn't exist without people to believe in it.And more importantly, fundamentalism wouldn't exist without religion. Stupid actions are inherent in cultures with ideologies which encourage, breed and ultimately derive from stupidity. This person is highly intelligent. Everyone should read this article. -
I used to hate that show. it grew on me a bit, probably only becaue it's been on t.v. on like 5 different channels every day for years. raymonds nowhere near as good as seinfeld. seinfeld was solid. the writing was average, with some less than average performances. the whole "robert's jealous of raymond" thing was never funny. The father was a terrible actor. so were the kids.granted the mother was good, so was debra.

I love all of Matt's stuff. But I've gotta say, I miss the old smooth, spaced out and melodic harmonies. I'm not into the high-strung, unrestful songs. his newer songs get less and less dynamic. He's always had that lawnmower vibrato in his singing but you have to balance it with something. And the rhythm... I can't help but picture a monkey two handing a drumstick on a snare. With that having been said, I like the song. By the way, I thought apparitions was the undisputed best video. And I'd also like to defend indestructible! cheesy mg sci-fi is cool. the video's dont seem to be getting any better. Alert status red and in a world called catastrophe are probably his worst two videos.

Seinfeld is a comedic genius. I can't think of any other comedy sitcom that was as funny or original. "It's funny because it's true" couldn't be more right. everyone can relate to the situations the characters got into. it was funny because it was believable. Jerry took ordinary situations and exagerated them just enough. People view seinfeld as just being a sitcom - which it was - but no matter how funny jerry's writing was the show would have never been as funny if the acting wasn't as awsome as it was. The acting on seinfeld was better than any current drama series I can think of. How many of those cop shows are there where they are all monotoned, savvy and cynicle? The acting sucks thats why those shows suck. And then you have shows like the Gilmore Girls where they spout out so much articulate insightful bullshit that it's unbelievable, which means it sucks. When George was irritated at something, you believed it. And no matter how stupid Kramers rants were, his acting was so intense. The situations were fuckin funny.
-
Well it would be nice if there were some clever jokes. I think you hit the nail right on the head. They laughed because it was Will Ferrel, not because it was a good movie. Will Ferrel's an entertainment fad. poor acting, poorly written. I'll give it a 3 out of 10

What If Everything You Know About 9/11 Is Wrong?

Name My Band.

if someone starts a band with me I'll name it -
It's pretty simple really. Criminals generally don't just become criminals for kicks. Prostitutes don't just sell themselves because they're lazy dirty sluts. There are reasons why people do bad things. Freud knew what he was talking about. Childhood experiences totally form who you are as a human being. It's going to have an affect on you when you grow up being poor, beaten or sexually abused. Every school has one of those classic bullies. My school had one. His father was a fuckin asshole. Chances are HIS father was an asshole too. Anyway, the original point of this thread was about what the media chooses to report on. That's also totally simple to understand.News media are only going to report on things that people want to hear about. It'd developed over the years into more of a form of entertainment than actually news. Do you think that every story that makes the front pages is the most newsworthy? Fuck no. There's a reason why CNN spent days reporting on Jessica Lynch the U.S. Marine that was captured. She was blonde, good looking, and the story was romantic and sensational. She was saved in the middle of the night from the evil Iraqi hospital ( who, by the way, actually gave her better treatment than anyone else there.) There's a reason why CNN spent days reporting on that girl who went missing while on a school trip to Aruba. People go missing all the time so why report on her? She was young, blonde, beautiful. She was probably sexually abused. That's why. People don't want to hear about how many Iraqi's died today. They also don't want to hear about, or see footage of starving Africans.
