that's true but 60 percent of americans don't have 15 percent body fat at their weight, or else everyone would look like arnold. I'm 6 ft with roughtly between 20-25 body fat, and when I'm at 15 percent body fat im roughly 170. right now I'm somewhere around 180. I'm not sure. But 15 percent body fat is excellent, good job!

it's a nominal difference. the definition of overweight literally means to be 'over' a healthy weight range for a person's height and age. It means someone's heart is working substantially harder than it has to. So yeah, an overweight person can definitely work towards being healthy , but they will always be at a greater risk than someone who is not overweight. I haven't seen the video and I'm not making any judgements. I'm just stating the facts. If most women are size twelve, then size 12 must be an unhealthy weight for most americans. stats don't discriminate on the basis of who looks good according to whom. where's the video?

yea but most americans are overweight. I don't think they should be made to feel good about it in the same way that we shouldn't downplay the risk of heart disease

there are lots of anorexic models, although I can't any examples of ostensibly anorexic tv actresses/actors. they're either within a healthy BMI range, or outside of it.and I watch too much tv infact, the one actor that I've seen more than most is severely obese.

There are specific reasons for this. Advertising teams literally sit around tables and discuss in detail what should be done in the commercials. there's a psychology being it. maybe ask sodamntired, I think he did advertising in school. Basically, my view is that they are NOT going to put ugly people in their commercials, especially in a soap commercial (dove is soap,right?) because they want to portray the image of clean and perfect. I'll bet that every relevant study will show that the viewer will have a more positive remembrance of the product if the actor isn't overweight, with acne, etc. So they feel the need to explain themselves, or they could be at risk of ruining their image Also, they're just doing something that a lot of commercials do. they tell you what their product is for. Our product is the best for straightening hair, the best for unclogging drains,the best night-time sleep medicine, etc. Because these things get stuck in your head - whether you believe it or not - and they affect your decisions for buying in the future
