Fact: When my Dutch grandparents first came to the country, they landed in Montreal and then took a several hour train ride. After getting off the train they figured they had to be out in the West coast after spending so much time on a train. Then they figured out they weren't even halfway across the country. This continues whenever any Dutch relatives visit. They always say that they were thinking taking a short side-trip out to the Rocky Mountains, and we always have to tell them that they need to look at a map. Hey everyone. I just got myself a new Macbook for university. All new and shiny. Et cetera. One little problem - I can't connect to the internet via the wireless network in my house. The computer is connected to the network and the internet definitely works over the network, but I can't connect to the internet on the network with the mac. What I need is something called the M.A.C. number. This has nothing to do with Apple - it's called the media access control number and it is given to every wireless device. The security settings on the network are such that I need this number in order to get on the internet - this keeps undesirables from connecting. I spent some time on the phone with the Apple hold line and was ultimately told that I need to contact D-Link (the router manufacturer) in order to find out what the number is. Is anyone good enough with computers to help me figure out what this number is without forcing me to waste some time on D-Link's support line?

You know what I loved about grade 10 history? When we learned about the female contribution to the war effort, we learned about all the health hazards women faced working in jobs normally occupied by men - chemical plants, for example. There was mention of how women were exposed to toxic fumes and chemical burns and all that shit, without mentioning that even more men had been doing the exact same thing for longer. Chances are I might be in for longer than three years, as ROTP members have to serve "an obligatory period of service". Either way I'm going to do a lot more research into the military before committing to something. EDIT: Back on topic, what do you mean by "all countries involved"? In WWI and WWII there was a sort of base conflict that got all the other countries involved. For example, WWI was Germany's unification despite the balance of power remaining the same as it was in 1815. WWII was Germany's dissatisfaction over the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.

Here's the problem: I'm already planning (though it's not for sure) to join the army/navy/air force during university to train as a military pharmacist, do my thing in the army for however long I need to, and go on with other things in life. Secondly, under what terms are WWIII being fought? Israel v. Middle East? I wouldn't enlist in the army to join that fight because neither side is worth fighting/dying/killing for to me. EDIT: Like Supercanuk said, if it's a repeat of WWI then I wouldn't join. And I wouldn't be surprised if the next major conflict turned out to be something like WWI.
