I'm confused. Can't you just download the iTunes client and switch to the US store? You don't even need a browser. Just click on the Canadian flag on the main page.
-
On the main iTunes page, click on the little US flag. When the list comes up, hit the Canada store. You can't buy anything from it without a Canadian mailing address, but you can preview everything in the store.

I assume Matt felt the same way.

On the leaked tracklist from July of 2001, "All Together" was next to last before "Sort of a Protest Song". (The rest of the tracklist was the same.)

I'd say Photoshop, too. But only so far. Note the walkway behind him. Clearly you can walk there, clearly you can stand there. While it looks close, it's certainly safe enough for two people to be there. Maybe unsettling, but you wouldn't need Photoshop. Close down the DVP? Okay, never been there, but how's traffic on it on a Sunday morning around 6am? I've seen some seriously busy freeways dead empty around then. But I think the lighting and blur effect is a Photoshop. It seems like the cars would have to be driving in reverse for the lights to capture that way. Still cool, though.

The rabbit likes to travel from city to city dropping magic turds that transform into pixies which fly through the air and emanate the music of Matthew Good. If you capture one of the magic fairies in a jar and hold it up to your ear it will peacefully whisper Matt Goodness into your ear until it transforms into a magic earwig that buries deep within your eardrum channelling well into the confines of your head permanently burning its music into your head where it cannot escape forcing you to get down on your knees and beg the Matthew Gods to allow you their mercy. As you scream to the heavens for death to come to you and set you free the hair on your arms and legs thickens into a soft polyester weave and spreads across your skin as a yellow carpet encompassing you as a shell and expanding to envelop you with two ears sprouting above your head and establishing you as the next magic rabbit where you begin your journey anew. And so is foretold the cycle of beauty and tragedy that befalls the magic yellow Matthew Good rabbit.

Gotta have your speakers on. It's a fragment of "Pony Boy".

You can't really record something "to 5.1". 5.1 is just a type of mix. Albums are recorded in multi-track format. For example, most major-label albums in the 90s were recorded to 48-track. With systems like ProTools, the number of tracks is nearly limitless. You can mix those tracks into any x.x you want. You can even mix 4-track recordings into 5.1 with sound effects and processing (though it usually sounds like shit). So, yeah, it'd be possible to mix Avalanche into 5.1. No problem. Whether it's already been done or not is the better question. /info dork

"Dusk" was actually released on PureTracks, not iTunes. But it's no longer there. For all your b-side needs: http://www.49music.net/ytts/audio.html

If you wanna catch Genn live, go see 54-40, as he's actually a member of that band.

I've never heard it that way. Until now. Winner. (Seriously.)

Did somebody drop you on your head?

blah, nothing to see here... though I'll add that I dug seeing the interview. Thanks!

The closest FYE has a used copy of Audio of Being for 49 cents (US). I thought about buying it, but I figure three is enough. Maybe I'll pick it up and give it to someone.

I'm still betting that the acoustic and b-sides material will be on one disc. That would explain the price. But that's entirely speculation on my part.
-
Bought it used in America for $1.99.
-
Another random possibility: Acoustic stuff = 35 minutes Lo-Fi B-Sides = 14 minutes ? Loser Anthems = 24 minutes ---- 73 minutes, and would fit on one disc.
-
Ya know, he did say originally that he wanted to do multiple packages. One with the DVD, one with the b-sides, etc, etc, etc. Of course, that was months ago, but I like stirring the pot. /kept in the dark

I wouldn't say that. He's about to make it available for free on his website. I bet he just felt it didn't fit on AoB.

Not to harp on Jenny, but people shouldn't enter contests if they can't accept the prize. A few years ago, the Foo Fighters held a special concert in Los Angeles for people who were on their message board. They added a page for people to sign up to win tickets if they could go. It turned out that a TON of people entered the contest who had no intention of going to the show. Most of them lived thousands of miles away. They posted on the boards declaring how amazing it was that they'd won, and then noted that they couldn't have gone if they wanted to. The drawing was done so close to the day of the show that it was too late to redraw for people who could actually go. Long story long, the show ended up being about half-full in attendance. A large number of local folks were completely shut out, thanks to those people who had no intention of going but had won tickets. It was a very special evening, one that many of them would have remembered for the rest of their lives. Instead, they were sitting at home wishing they were there. And they could have been if all of those people hadn't entered just for the sake of entering. /sorry, kind of a long peeve of mine

Sorry Matt, the person who made this comment was named "meeeeegeee". Until you can prove otherwise, I'm claiming that as the actual spelling. Boy, you're just fuckin' dying to be right, aren't you?

Seriously serious.
