  1. Oof. It's really bad. I don't have much to say. It's so incredibly boring.
  2. There are very few high quality copies of Annabelle lying around.
  3. You got the nail on the head in supporting artists that treat their fans well. I just bought a deluxe vinyl package from Local H. Certainly don't need another vinyl but I like Scott Lucas and the effort he puts in. I won't travel to Buffalo or St. Catherines anymore to see Matt. It's not because he canceled the Pittsburgh show and I'm salty. It's just everything over the past few years and I'm even aligned with him politically. Posing as a fan on the subreddit was just wild. I suspect (but don't know)that the sexual allegations stuff was mostly him being a "rock star" and he never hid the fact he could be a colossal asshole. I don't know what happened behind closed doors but I know no charges were filed so I've basically moved on from that part but it still taints everything. His music meant a lot to me. It still does! But the artist behind the music has definitely fallen out of favor with me throughout the years.
  4. Damn right to the person who wrote the long post calling out his BS! I live close to the Pittsburgh venue. I ALWAYS had a sneaking suspicion this show wouldn't go on. Even booking Pittsburgh was so very weird. I found out about the show originally because of an app called bandsintown that alerts me when artists I follow come near me although I check Matt's site enough and the subreddit that I would have eventually found out. He played a very small venue several years ago in Pittsburgh called Club Cafe 2012 and it was solo acoustic. Decent crowd for the place. 50-70 people maybe. He also played Mr. Smalls 2010 which is MUCH bigger with his full band. The place was comically empty. Maybe the same 50 people that went to Club Cafe a couple years later! Club Cafe made a little more sense because solo acoustic has to be cheap to do. I saw him that same tour in 2010 in Buffalo and it was packed and full of energy. Possibly his best show I'd ever seen. You could tell the small, low energy crowd in Pittsburgh impacted him. It was a very tonally different show. He acted like he couldn't wait to get out of there but he still played the show like a pro. Overall, a far cry from the Beehive in Pittsburgh with MGB in 2001 which was raucous and just FUN. I was SHOCKED he even tried Pittsburgh again so when he canceled, I just assumed very low sales. After all, it'd been 13 years since he came and his music sales/popularity had only tapered since then. I assumed if I went, it'd basically be a private show. He canceled FIVE days before the show and cited Trump which I still suspect is just bullshit. FIVE DAYS BEFORE!!!! The subreddit which had turned on him for the most part due to his shady behavior with him posting under psuedonyms like he was a fan and his terrible new Patreon and social messages all came flocking back: "Good ole Matt is back!!!!" You couldn't even act disappointed he canceled or you got showered with downvotes. So his ploy worked a little bit I guess. He got to have his little protest and get out of some shows that would put him in the red. Matt is a shell of what he once was. His new music is a pretty wild departure which is fine if he wants to try something new but the fact it was recorded years ago tells you he just doesn't have the appetite for it and is just doing these tours to scrape together whatever cash he can. I'm basically over him at this point.
  5. He canceled all US shows: To my US fans, and friends. I’ve come to the personal decision, that I can’t, in good conscience carry out my dates this summer in your country. This is not fair to you, and I’m very well aware of that, but the truth is, every week that goes by, I have a deeper disdain for what’s going on there politically. My world has always focussed on political awareness, and I know that you might not all be on the same side, so I want to be clear about this. It’s MY opinion, and I’m willing to risk my future US career, to stand up against things today, and god willing, for ONLY another 3 years. Recently, it was announced that after a year of an imposed digital services tax, we (Canada) are backing down from that, to appease Mr. Trump’s government. This was approximately 2 billion dollars in revenue that has been accumulating, and we’re walking away from that. Add to that, the massive increase in visa costs, the fear mongering that even after we have our visas, we may still be denied entry if we have something negative to say about the current GOP, and I end up in a situation where I’m biting my tongue, and losing what credibility I had to stand up and say something. Myself, and my band will lose a week’s worth of work, and that really hurts, but giving up 30% of our earnings to a withholding tax, walking on eggshells at the border, and actively participating in the silencing of opinions, is a bigger cost to me personally. I realize that I have approximately .00001% impact on things overall, as this was just a few thousand tickets, but I can’t stand by and be quiet while our amazing country is bullied into walking away from billions in needed revenue, constantly left wondering if we actually have a partner or an enemy to the south, and equally as tragic, supporting someone who has completely bastardized the institution of art and culture in the US. I would invite other artists to join me, but that’s unfair. I have built a career here in Canada that I’m proud of, and will double down here over the next 3 years, and invite my US fans to any show they want to here. Our friends, Texas King, might suffer more out of this, as our support act for these shows…so as a favour, we encourage you to get out and support them wherever you can!
  6. Pittsburgh show just got canceled.
  7. We got a new song now!
  8. I'll be there!
  9. No new music in awhile. Limited touring until recently. The allegations causing him to retreat. No record label or promotion or anything there for awhile. I know it's subjective but I thought moving Walls was incredibly boring. There just isn't much to log in and talk about most days.
  10. There is some mild drama in the mattgood subreddit where he is getting dragged for allegedly using alt accounts. Matt should come back to post in this forum instead.
  11. Any words on a Buffalo, NY date?
  12. Congrats to all you folks getting to see the new shows! I hope Matt continues making music and touring but his health worries me a bit.
  13. Wow. Thank you for sharing this. This was a nostalgia shot right to my veins. Made me forget about all the controversy swirling about now and just took me back to a simpler time. This was about the time I was REALLY getting into MGB. Underdogs meant so much to me. My first show was Edgefest '99 in Barrie, ONT and I bought the CD there where the case got all bashed up. It was really hard to find Canadian artist CD's in the USA at that time so it was like a great score for me. I still have it and that bashed up case meant so much to me for so long....not so much anymore though with Spotify and such. What memories. Thank you.
  14. This type of music is definitely not for me. I was bored to tears. But I am glad that other people are enjoying them and hopefully the rest of the album properly sees the light of day and everyone who worked on them gets the credit they deserve.
  15. It was different. It used to be his picture. It changed shortly after all this started.
  16. His response: I do find it interesting his first statement is about being dropped from the label and not about the victims. He also only mentioned one victim and not the others who have come forward. And again he uses his mental health as a crutch.
  17. We all know the way things work and the way they have worked for a long time is the court of public opinion has a say too. This isn't media skewing it because up until an hour ago, the media wasn't involved. This was information straight from victims. And it's not he said she said. It's around a dozen different "she saids" with no word from the man himself. It's pretty damning and some people have seen enough to jump to their own conclusions and make up their minds. We don't need a court to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in this case. Maybe you do....but several don't. This is the way of the world.
  18. Nailed it. All this talk of cancel culture and whatnot or trying to parse out what EXACTLY Matt did that was illegal is just noise. Some people are quick to make excuses, some are quick to write him off forever and then there are people ready to attack someone who doesn't feel the same way. I imagine most of us are probably just sitting here saying, "well, this sucks." A few things from my point of view: 1) I feel terrible for any woman (or person) that has suffered at the hands of predatory behavior such as what has been alleged. I support them and will ALWAYS listen to what they have to say. They should be welcome to this forum (or any forum) without being attacked or harassed to tell their story. 2) Everyone makes mistakes but if this becomes a pattern of behavior or there appears to be a culture of it then that wades into unacceptable territory for me. It looks like we're there with all of the allegations but I think I'd like to at least hear from Matt. But the more time that goes by with absolute crickets, the more damning it looks. Is this typical "rock star" behavior? I think it goes beyond that. It's not the 70/80/90's anymore and reaching out via social media to groom and manipulate and send inappropriate material is quite a bit different than just banging a groupie on the bus and moving on to the next city. The infidelity seemingly throughout Matt's personal life also increases the magnitude of this. Although, I've generally NEVER cared about the personal lives of musicians in the past. 3) I'm done financially supporting MG in any future endeavors. Will I listen to any music he puts out, if he even continues selling music? I honestly don't know. I'm not gonna run off and burn all his albums and for now, any listening pleasure I received has been significantly dampened. I didn't even buy Moving Walls because I didn't think it was any good but that's beside the point. 4) I have a rec room in my house dedicated to rock n roll memorabilia. I have a whole section of wall dedicated to MG. Pictures, framed signed posters and CD's, a drumstick I caught from an MGB show, etc. It seems a little extreme to take it down because by all accounts, the other members of MGB aren't total dirtbags. But I'm really torn with having what basically amounts to an altar to a man who treats women in such a way I consider unconscionable. Undecided as of right now.
  19. Having allegedly a dozen women (some of them are in the instagram comments) coming out against him is pretty damning. I feel bad for all of those women. That email she posted from Matt was also pretty disgusting; like who he is and what he produces excuses that type of behavior? Or he is implying that you can't have his music without all the bad shit? Sorry Matt, Beautiful Midnight was good but it wasn't THAT good and was also 20+ years ago.
  20. Subreddit is completely down now with the instagram links posted.
  21. It just has a message that says something like "victims should be heard". I haven't seen anything in the news about Matt being accused of anything or something like that. Does anyone know what is going on?
  22. I'm glad others look to be enjoying the album. I kind of even forgot about it but it popped up in my spotify today. I'm about halfway through it now and I've been bored to tears since it started. I guess this album is just not for me. I love me some rock n roll and this just isn't it. No worries though. I'll bet it'll still be great live if I'm able to catch a show this time around.
