  1. they'll do anything for money.
  2. holy crap. i don't really have much of either dvds or cds. hmm. i plan on changing that after university, maybe. after i'm not broke, preferably. i'm going to be so broke. and then some.
  3. hmm. the latest rise against album took time to grow on me. it's alright, but they've definitely become crap-lousy. the album as a whole is pretty lame. it's not bad... but if you've heard the oldest stuff, you'll know it's by far the best. you know they've hit mainstream when people are putting it in the yearbook and weaselly scenester kids are wearing their shirts all the time. sad, but expected. the trucker hats were the beginning of the end...
  4. i reckon we're all making a really big deal out of this. i'm too tired to care.
  5. the lyrics are pretty basic, admittedly. the only thing i really like about tool is the instrumental stuff. vocally, it's cool, but whatever. danny carey is pretty friggin amazing. i think, on the whole, tool fans do tend to go a little psychotic. some of the stuff on that list i'm kind of ambivalent about. i don't like the rolling stones, but they do have a lot of influence and such, i guess. some of that list i'd change around, but whatever.
  6. cool. 678
  7. the art is very... i don't know art, but the style seems very... something. white middle class 1950's fear mongering. how's that sound? almost cold war era. or either world war... hmm. i'm really not eloquent.
  8. he played violin when he was pretty young. i think he stopped when he was fourteen. i recall this from somewhere. he didn't pick up a guitar until he was in his midteens, i believe. i'm pretty sure it also says in the liner notes that he and warne livesey (producer of the universal mg(B) recordings) do the string arrangements as well. he can also play drums, i believe. i think he does a ton of stuff, as he essentially wrote all the songs. more or less. that's kind of ambiguous, but whatever. edit: spelling.
  9. i like them, but haven't heard much of their stuff. i've heard various things from the span of their career, and it's quite varied.
  10. i was in chapters awhile ago and i skimmed one of her books. oh man. it's bad... don't you just love how heartless she is? i really don't understand some people. in fact, i'm glad i don't understand... -shudders-
  11. smashing pumpkins - mayonaise i love this song so much.
  12. smashing pumpkins - soma that, or listening to my parents yelling at me or me wishing i was sleeping awake.
  13. nice. i wouldn't even open it. haha.
  14. good call. smashing pumpkins - mayonaise
  15. you guys really give 'er. interesting discussion. i think on a certain level, nothing really works, and there's always a tradeoff. what would you rather sacrifice? that's what it all comes down to. but i must say, i'm sick and tired of liberal politicians pissing away our money. (i'm in ontario. yeah.)
  16. nice. succinct...
  17. why thank you. i have both lps and most of the demos. want some? and i almost got tickets to see them live on the 27th at the kathedral, but didn't. stupid me. i can send you some if you like. Against Me! ;)
  18. actually, i've seen the phrase 'in a coma' numerous times. as an example, the novel by canadian authour Douglas Copeland. 'Girlfriend in a Coma.' yeah, so that's one. yeah, i wouldn't buy it if it was just a singles collection, seeing as i own all the LPs and EPs from lotga on, in some form or another. i should really work on getting the pre-lotga demos. anybody, anybody? yeah. i'll probably buy it if it has acoustic cuts and covers, though. mmm. acoustic. call me crazy, but i think things sound so much rawer in acoustic. that's probably because i'm an Against Me! aficiando, though. and i probably spelt that wrong. the mob won't kill me though. i have street cred with the italians. thanks, uncle tony. that's the end of that... smashing pumpkins... ;)
  19. smashing pumpkins - in the arms of sleep
  20. why not lambaste? generalizing is fun! besides, this way, our ignorance is just underscored... yeah, i don't like bush. sure, he's an idiot. sure, war is sad, but, calloused as it sounds, there've been worse. he's just the flavour of the day. 'hate bush.' it's almost a popular thing now. i'm sure a lot of people hate him and they don't even know why. well, he has done some pretty stupid things. but the point is, it's pop culture at this point. i'm not making sense. i agree...
