  1. It's a possibility he's just got a big head, though. That band has always been a little bit overwrought. I think he thinks they're bigger than they are, and I think he thinks that they're so good that they'd be just as popular/famous without a major Hollywood actor as their lead singer.
  2. Can confirm the 90% crowd singing thing. I was excited to see them open up for Muse this past summer, and disappointed when it was just him dancing around in a $3000 Versace robe sticking the mic stand up in the air for the audience can sing. They allegedly recorded the audience to include in the single for Walk on Water and he was legitimately mad that the crowd wasn't louder.
  3. Replaying Rise of the Tomb Raider with all of the DLC. Loved the Baba Yaga Mission ... adds to the game without it feeling like it's something they just cut out to gauge people.
  4. I went to a show once where this drunk girl behind me kept yelling "Apparitions". The whole time I'm just thinking, "Have you ever Matt Good-ed before, lady?" If there's one song he's going to play as a certainty .......
  5. Back in the day, people used to scream "Rico" during concerts and it pissed Matt off because he doesn't really like the song. It became a meme almost for people to scream the song and have him refuse and take on a life of its' own. That, and I'm sure there's a few people who just legitimately don't like it.
  6. Just saw Enter Shikari last night at Lee's. Third time I've seen them, but first time in almost ten years. Such an energetic band with a fantastic, exuberant fan base!
  7. My issue with it is not making him flawed or giving him less than enviable characteristics, it's doing so within reason and such that they haven't fundamentally misunderstood the character. When Obi Wan spent twenty years in the desert on Tattoine, he emerged strange, but hopeful. Yoda, same deal. I could have taken his jaded attitude ... his curmudgeonly rejection of the force ... but even thinking of killing a sleeping teenager? Bullshit. You change over the years, but who you are still the same KIND of person ... and making pretty much the whole new trilogy contingent upon Luke - even temporarily- being willing to commit murder is utter horse shit. Making the character three dimensional is admirable, as Luke was always a bit of a boy scout ... but this specific way shit the bed inestimably.
  8. Holy shit. I hadn't thought of that. That makes so much sense.
  9. Amazing! This reminds me that I still have to get a poster frame for the BM revisited tour poster!
  10. Yes, I agree with all the assertions and inklings you've written about here. Luckily I was able to see him twice on the Nothing to Hide Tour, and once acoustic at the Live Banter with Jay Baruchel. May have been a family/obligation thing too, not touring as often, whereas in 2007 that was pre-children and he maybe felt like he could be away for longer. I want to highlight my enthusiasm for the mega-show with the price being over $100 also. Would definitely ensure I saved up my ducats to see that!
  11. Not gonna lie, you're probably going to get the chance to do that again. Matt always seems to speak highly of those kinds of shows due to the freedom it affords him in terms of song choice. And I have no doubt the margins are better as well!
  12. So, yeah, this was a fantastic event. There were only about 15-20 people there. One question that may be of some interest to those here is someone asked about collaborations and Raine mentioned that it is their intention to try and do collaborations through the encores. Not going to lie, looking forward to that!
  13. Me too! Sounds like I will see you there ...
  14. Haha touche. I still want one, I just dig t-shirts more.
  15. I concur. I kinda wish there were straight up T-Shirts though, as I am not much of a hoodie guy.
  16. Can't find clips of the other two, but here's the Smallville one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcjJXsiTMT4
  17. I can't say music placement in a film or TV show has ever struck me as being "selling out". Isn't that more with regards to advertisements? In any case, he's already had Weapon used in an episode of Smallville, as well as Queer as Folk. Hello Time Bomb was also on the soundtrack to "Men with Brooms"
  18. I remember the day that I bought the album at "Music World" (wow, so long ago jesus), and both editions were available. My parents were going through a confusing phase of caring when music featured curse words (even though they swore all the time- hence my confusion), so I decided against the special edition because I didn't want any "evidence" of the swear words. I really regret it now, of course.
  19. This does actually work pretty well. Good thinkin'.
  20. I saw that also. I followed the link to their website and the "artists" section and it just says "Headliners TBA" with no other info. They also use that same photo of Matt et al. from Bones era live set up.
  21. Oh, yeah, no argument here. I was just mentioning that there is some variation. I have some Explosions in the Sky records that are only about 40ish minutes that are double albums, spread across three sides (with one blank/embossed side), but then there's also The King of Limbs by Radiohead, which is a single, double sided release and clocks in at around the same time. And then there's the digital transfers ... which sound like low-volume MP3's being played on an Ancient Egyptian pottery kiln.
  22. Avalanche is six minutes longer and it fit on two. Should be able to fit on a double; that said, if I am not mistaken, it will depend on the fidelity/compression of the mixdown. As we all know, not all vinyl is created equal.
  23. I quite enjoyed it. There was a lot to like in the film. I'm still unpacking my feelings with regards to the Luke storyline, but I think I am starting to be aware of the fact that I don't like the way that he was portrayed. Luke is supposed to represent a certain ideal, and I don't feel like he would have made the decisions he made in the film (and in the thirty years between VI and VII/VIII) if the writing team/Johnson really understood the character. The direction they went in wasn't necessarily bad, but it just didn't feel right, either. I can't really speak in any more detail without going into spoiler territory, however. In a nutshell, I think I understand why Hamill didn't like the script, or more specifically, his own character arc. Maybe we can make a Last Jedi thread that explicitly warns the poster before entering that spoilers shall be discussed ... just an idea.
  24. As you say, it's off-beat a bit, but you've captured a similar guitar tone and seem to have the part down. Good work!
  25. Just saw Alexisonfire last night at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Man, they were good as ever! 10/10, one of the best live bands going!
