  1. Sweet. We are closing on our house that day so just add this to the pile of money exiting my bank account. Very excited though and I also appreciate that he made Avalanche different from the original.
  2. That visual brought a much needed laugh, thank you. Not enough was played in Montreal not sure about during VIP though.
  3. Oh you can give me credit for the first one hahaa. The up close of Matt though, that was someone else's I found on the event page. If I would've taken a photo from my vantage point you probably could have seen up his nose lol. I only took a few photos this show though. Kinda just wanted to enjoy it
  4. That photo was from the guy two people to my right. There were zero ways that I could snap one he was just too close!
  5. SLAS was really good, had a very heavy feel to it. Bullets was amazing. Matt's delivery made it very emotional. Decades was fun live. There the first time was the song henwoukd have gone into the crowd for but there was nowhere in this venue for him to go so he stood at the front on the barricade ledge right in front of me and Emma for the whole song, which I will certainly not complain about. I do wish there was more collab for the encore but time bomb was fun with everyone up on stage. ETA I think Emma may have video of bullets from sound check, so maybe she will pop in and post it eventually
  6. Montreal Setlist Something Like a Storm Xrated Decades Strange Days Born Losers There the first time Alert status red Load me up Apparitions Weapon Bullets We were treated to hearing bullets twice during soundcheck so three times total which was awesome. Great show as always.
  7. Thanks!
  8. Damn. I may get a ticket anyways. A friend of mine from high school really wants to see OLP. We went to some of their shows together back in the day. Ah nostalgia.
  9. Just announced it. Do you know of a fan club code?
  10. Damn! I can only hope. When and where?
  11. Hahaa I have that mini disc too, don't remember why I even got it though. Prob in my mg hoarding days.
  12. Ended up with Montreal this time around. Which may sound crazy, but I've travelled from living in both California and Texas to see Matt so a six hour drive is nothing. I would have opted for the smaller Toronto show but it didn't work out schedule wise. I booked a room less ham half a mile from the venue so that should do nicely I think.
  13. Ok thanks. That works then I can hopefully drop it off at the car in between, or hotel depending where we stay. Now just fingers crossed for a coat check.
  14. Thanks for the link. Exciting to hear that they will be planning g a collaboration of some sort. Logistical question for people who have done VIP in the past. Do you go back outside again after soundcheck and then are let in early closer to the time of doors? And do you receive the VIP merch during the soundcheck portion as well? I actually have the means to do VIP this time around but I just don't want to have to worry about storing stuff somewhere during the show since I chose a GA venue.
  15. Great idea! I haven't listened to any of their newer stuff so would like to get reacquainted before the show. I saw them three times during the Clumsy / spiritual machines eras, so it's been some time.
  16. How gracious of Matt to even address some of the comments here through Anton after someone crossed a line. It's unfortunate to lose the communication we had from him. I too would gladly pay the $120 for the show that was described. I'm starting to get excited for the upcoming tour and hope I get to hear a few of my favorites from the new album. Hoping for Days Come Down, bad guys win, something like a storm, bullets and this is night. Ya know, basically half the album haha. Tripoli would be pretty cool if that ends up happening but I'll gladly take what I can get.
  17. Thanks. I'm sure I will definitely enjoy it. It will be interesting to see the difference between this and the BM and CN tours, those were really amazing.
  18. This was a tough one. I was excited at first but you all brought up some good points. I haven't listened to OLP in years and years but I'm ok with seeing them. I'm even ok with Matt playing first because less time standing in front with no bathroom break haha. That being said, the likelihood of mostly singles isn't super ideal. Or a shorter set time. But. I don't want to pass up the chance to see him. I don't like seated or arena shows so that brought my choices down to rebel in Toronto or Montreal. Toronto is closer but it's my husbands birthday weekend and I made him go to an mg show last year on his birthday weekend and although I know he would go if I asked, I settled on Montreal. It's midweek so hotel prices should be lower, which I guess is a plus. I don't think I can swallow the price of VIP so I'll probably pass on that and hope for the best.
  19. In buffalo here. Last year was an uncharacteristic winter with little snow so we are looking at either the same (yay global warming) or an awesomely bad one (boo lake effect). I've driven up a few times in the bad weather for shows and it does suck, but if you leave yourself enough time for bad driving conditions could be worth it. I was really hoping for a Buffalo stop but OLP was just here over the summer. Is there a presale code? I haven't seen an email from the mg team yet.
  20. The timing is excellent. We can see mg and catch a Rockets game in Toronto all in the same weekend. I'm stoked.
  21. Very exciting, considering the snafu of a supposed OLP and mg show earlier this year in Upstate NY.
  22. I couldn't afford to travel for the AOD tour. Last minute a free show was booked in Buffalo and my sister offered to fly me up for it but I felt bad taking her up on the offer. She went and I regret not going. Meeting Matt at the Jackson Triggs Winery show and being too awkward to barely say anything.
  23. I'm definitely anxious to learn the tour dates and am hoping to catch more than one show this time around now that I live closer. As far as what is llayed, I wouldn't mind hearing some of the deeper cuts over new songs. Another option though would be to play a lot of new album stuff but replace the songs that always get played - apparitions, born losers, load me up etc. I've seen all of those multiple times by now and would happily forego them to hear an old song played live for the first time. The BM tour was perfection for me, hearing some of those well loved songs live for the first time ever. There's something really special about that experience.
  24. I always stand Stu side. He's so fun to watch.
  25. It was posted on instagram yesterday, I'm listening now. Pretty solid indeed. Funny, I just started using instagram more often. I used to use fb as more of an outlet but now since everyone and their grandmother is there I had to migrate.
