Has anyone who preordered the vinyl received shipping confirmation yet? Originally the date was October 8 and was pushed back to the 23, but I haven't heard anything.

Arrows Of Desire Led Me To Listening To Aob Again And...
mackie1023 replied to Outtahere's topic in Matthew Good
I thought of Change of Season the first time I lilstened to Letters. They're not really "the same", but I can hear it in there. I think it's more of a dynamic similarity. -
It's really hard to decide, but my top three live: Primetime deliverance at Jackson Triggs Rabbits at Antone's in Austin Girl in the War at Infinity in Buffalo

I feel your pain.. This tour is going to be amazing, I hope there are lots of videos posted.

Aww man I just got the email from Maple Music that the vinyl manufacturing has been delayed. Bummer.
-
The CBC link is still up and running and works in the US if you really want to hear it.

Lyrics are up on the website...

Got my download lnk in the email this morning though I'm at work so that does me no good here. As of now, if I was forced to make a favorites list without putting more than one song in the same spot, I would have: Garden of Knives Via Dolorosa Mutineering Letters in Wartime Hey Hell Heaven So Close We're Long Gone Guns of Carolina Arrows of Desire Had It Coming Though it's really very hard to decide between VD and Mutineering. They are both great for their own reasons and I would rather put them in the same slot. The same can probably be said for Letters and HHH. Also, when I listen to Letters in Wartime I can't help but think of Change of Season.

Nothing here either. Hmm. The email I got when I ordered said my stuff wouldn't ship until October 8. I got a vinyl as well I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Should have the download code in my email tomorrow though!
-
Seriously? **clocks out early to speed home and check mailbox** I would be stoked. What shipping option did you choose? I probably wouldn't be so lucky being in the south but will defintely report back if it's already arrived.

Yes, I love the Hey Hell Heaven lyrics video. It just went along with the feel of the song and gave a slight nod to MGB with the monkey masks.

I'm really digging this album. I recall being blown away by LOES driving alone on a 6 hour road trip. I didn't listen to any snippets or demos or anything really before it came out. I went the opposite route this time and it was just as exciting. I think that after LOES, this is really refreshing for me. I still love We're Long Gone as much as when I first heard it, a lot of these songs have an energy to them that I was missing from the older stuff. While there's a slight familiarity to some of it, like in Had It Coming and Hey Hell Heaven, it's combined with a punchiness I haven't heard in the solo stuff. And then there's Garden of Knives, Mutineering and Letters in Wartime. Probably my favorites. I'm rambling here. Pretty much, good work Matt!

Looks like you can buy just the song on itunes, or at least on the US itunes you can.
-
Wasn't the itunes version of LOES also the only one that came with Darlin'? That's another reason I like to purchase all formats, I'm always afraid I'm going to miss something.
-
I really like the way this song flows lyrically and it has a familiarity to it. And I simply can not stop playing Garden of Knives on the Indie88 stream. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album, hopefully it lives up to the hype in my head.
-
I'm kind of jealous, but hope you can do it. You won't be disappointed!
-
Just ordered both. As a US fan unfortunately located in the south, I'm extremely happy the vinyl is available since I can't make it to any shows. ***The code for the digital download will be emailed on September 24 to vinyl purchasers!

Does anyone know what kind of merch has been available at recent shows? Since I can't make it to buffalo, I'm hoping my sister might be able to pick something up for me if she goes. Apologies if this goes in the marketplace, it just doesn't get much traffic it seems.
-
I agree, I kept thinking it was just my crappy car speakers but the sound quality is not great. That being said, a few of the samples really have me excited for the release. Being in the US, I haven't been able to purchase the singles so this is highly anticipated.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the same place they do the free concerts on Thursdays, outside at the harbour (so not very small). I went once last summer while I was in town and was amazed at how well they've developed that area. Buffalo is my hometown, but I don't make it back as much as I used to. Usually an mg show is involved in the planning. As far as things to do, there is always Niagara Falls if you've never been, US or Canadian side and if you go up into Niagara on the Lake there is a pretty decent wine trail if you are into that. If you stick around Buffalo, get yourself a steak andwich at The Old Pink, they are off the charts. Plenty of good divey type bars in Allentown.

A show has been announced for August 31 at the Harbor in Buffalo! Sadly, I won't be able tomake it up there, but I'm happy that some US fans will. http://matthewgood.org/journal/2013/7/23/show-announcement-buffalo-ny

"Foreign reporters take snapshots And back at the hotel they can't stomach lunch"
-
Same statement was reposted this morning, minus the Buffalo show, which has also been removed from the Tour Dates on the webpage. Sadness.
-
Hopefully so. I wasn't decided yet whether I would make it up to buffalo (my hometown) from Texas for it, but I just might.

Just announced all US dates cancelled except for Buffalo/Niagara Rapids Theatre...
