Ok, maybe some will say I'm being too liberal here, but there is not a single album I would do away with. While, sure, some are better than others, I think each one is so different and unique, and each one of them has its moment or moments of brillance. Each one is a soundtrack to a different time in my life, be it good or bad, and doing away with one of the albums would be like doing away with the memories associated with that particular album. I think because the albums are so diverse, they compliment each other nicely as a whole and represent the artist's musical growth.

The one last October? Yeah, I saw the kid who caught the water bottle running up and down the street yelling, "This is MATTHEW GOOD'S water bottle and he gave it to ME!!!!!!" after the show. I met the Waking Eyes once. They gave me a free CD of demos. Still not the same though. I have nothing from a Matt Good show really, except some nice pics I was able to take as a result of being in the very front of the mosh pit @ the Red River Ex show this summer. Got some pretty nasty bruises and rope burn, too. ;) But, anyways, they're really nice shots, the white lights showed up beautifully.

I'd name one "The Best Damn Album You Would Have Ever Owned if You Didn't Just Walk Past it in the Record Shop on Your Way to Waste Your Money on a Damn Nickelback CD" I think it has a nice ring to it. Or.... Matt could do a duet with Scott Stappe formerly of Creed and call it Matt Sells His Soul

It Couldn't Be!
shenanigans87 replied to insane_child's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
The instrumentation is pretty good. The guy's voice annoys me. At first, I thought, "Wow, this guy does sound like Matt Good". But then after a couple seconds you realize that this guy lacks the cool vibratto (sp?) Matt has in his voice, and this guy just sounds kinda whiny. Hey, does anyone here have a microphone for their computer, because it would be hilarious if those that did could record a quick little Matthew Good imitation and post it here for all to laugh at. ;) -
Empty Road: I heard: "Dream of wearing leather." Actual lyrics: "Dream of where it left you."

i can hook you up, do you have an email? Can you hook me up too? I'm looking for all old Matt Good stuff. Thanks a bunch! [email protected] you've been hooked by Entresol and Last Poem's Poet. As for Dancing invisible, i think your account's full, i got a reject. Do you need anything else? Can you hook me up with "The Bombmaker"? My e-mail is [email protected].

I went there. I can't find the songs. How do I get to them?
-
May I have a copy of "The Bombmaker"? It's the only one I don't have that's on your list. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks.
-
Yes, but that would require NF$, which as you can see, I don't have a lot of. ;)

Does anyone have any songs from BonTempo??
-
Does anyone know anything about the songs "The Man from Harold Wood" and "Liquid Tension". I downloaded them from winMX and it said they were Matthew Good songs, but I can't tell because they are instrumental.

Anti-pop: I heard "Gotta laugh at life on TV. 2 in 3 stays, one must go. Long enough to start the boogie..." instead of, "Got a life from life on TV. Two eyes that stay in my skull. Long enough to start belive." Advertising on Police Cars: I heard "To reconstruct the song of your bones" instead of "to reconstruct some of your bones". Radio Bomb: I heard: "so you can do the dirty in the middle of the night..." instead of "so you can hear the day in the middle of the night".

The Killing of Matthew Good is a nifty little ditty.

'a Long Way Down' Is An Underrated Song
shenanigans87 replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
"Long Way Down" is a fantastic song. Haunting lyrics. (ie: "...even happiness is using you...", "...it'a a damn shame the sun don't shine underground...") I think my personal favorite is Avalanche. It truly needs to be heard live to fully appreciate. When I heard Matt perform it at the Wpg. show in October, it gave me chills. It's absolutely beautiful. -
I found a cassette of Broken by Matthew Good recorded during his folkie days on E-Bay yesterday. It was going for about $70-80.

If you could make a music video for any of Matthew Good/ Matthew Good Band's songs, which song would you pick and what would the video be like?
-
I have to make a music video for my film class. I would love to use a Matthew Good song. Not too sure which one though yet....I have some ideas, but can't really come to a decision. Any suggests?

Does Anyone Cover Mg With Their Band?
shenanigans87 replied to madeforburning's topic in Matthew Good
I sing MG songs in my shower. Does that count? ;) Some regulars seem to include: Symbolistic White Walls, Apparitions, Change of Season, Generation X-Wing, Hello Time Bomb, Load Me Up, Avavlanche, Failing the Rorschach Test, Carmelina, Blue Skies Over Bad Lands, Near Fantastica Haha, I'm pathetic.... -
It's people like you who make concerts very unenjoyable. ;) Where is he playing on Nov. 5th? The fact that everyone behaved themselves at the Winnipeg show was what made it so amazing. As someone who was almost crushed to death at the front of the Ex show in June, I appreciated the audience's maturity at this concert. If Matt Good doesn't have to worry about crowd control, I'd imagine it is more enjoyable for him, allowing him to concentrate on putting on a great show. Bottom line: If an artist is having fun, the crowd has fun. Anyways, the Winnipeg concert was absolutely incredible! His finest in Winnipeg, in my opinion. Regardless of what anyone else says about the lighting being too blinding, I loved it! Very surreal... And, of course, The Burton (it will always be The Walker to me) is such a great venue. The accoustics are amazing! To hell with the new arena, the Burton is the best concert venue Winnipeg has.
