  1. Does anyone know the name of the song in the new Nissan Rogue commercial? It's the one where a woman is trying to cram a bunch things from her apartment into her car, I believe. The song has a Sloan vibe to it, although I'm almost positive it is not, in fact, Sloan. I've googled it a number of times but nothing comes up and it's driving me nuts. I've posted some of the lyrics below: Here is the secret I love that clumsy you And I am always smilin' At everything you do And even if you stumble Every little part of it is you
  2. I don't look like any celebrity. ;)
  3. Sonic Youth - Teenage Riot
  4. Maybe we'll never go insane. You always said we would. Sometimes I wished we could, with you lying naked in the rain singing Boney M. - The Last Last One by The Weakerthans
  5. It varies from time to time. Lately it's been Portions for Foxes by Rilo Kiley.
  6. Blasphemy. ;) This guy managed to make the song sound like a cheesy Bryan Adams-ish rock ballad, and I'm being generous. Did anyone watch the video of them all singing Sloan's Money City Maniacs? Shameful. But, really what do you expect from a show hosted by Ben Mulroney; one of Brian Mulroney's worst contributions to Canada, possibly even more so than the GST.
  7. Once Soundtrack -Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard
  8. Nirvana or Radiohead, followed by The Weakerthans.

  11. Jay from Sloan - Talked to him for quite a while before a show last fall. Super nice guy. Pat Stewart (Matt's drummer.) The Waking Eyes Thornley's guitarist - Invited my friend and I to join them on their 'party bus'. We didn't go. The lead singer/bassist for the Ladies and the Gentlemen - Talked to him after a Matt Good show. He was very drunk. He wanted my friend and I to go to a strip club with him. Upon declining that offer, he invited us to go to Edmonton with the band. Again, we didn't go...
  12. I hate it. It is a completely overt exploitation of the female body. In a very literal sense, it is objectifying the female form, as the woman is presented as just that, an object, ready for use by a man (ie. Jonathon Davis), further exemplifying the patriarchy that continues to exist, even in today's society. Ok, so I never took art history. I took sociology. Does it show? ;)
  13. No, you're thinking of Pride (In the Name of Love). Continuing with the game, though: Bad Day - R.E.M.
  14. How wrong you are......
  15. Money City Maniacs - Sloan
