  1. Can't Get Shot in the Back/I, The Throw Away/Advertising on Police Cars
  2. Really? Avalanche or Near Fantastica aren't on your top 3? I personally find A long way down to be an album filler. I mean, I like the song, but the album would be the same without it imo...
  3. Oh, I forgot one more piece of banter: Matt was mentioning how Rich should *really* keep his hat on and save us the trouble of seeing his hair. Found that funny...
  4. That's the thing: not really. I know my friend was a bit dissapointed because he thought maybe, since it was the last show and he couldn't play last time, that Matt would play an extra half hour or something. But, I guess not. Oh well... In terms of the banter, he was going on about how at the end of the tour, the crowd doesn't understand jokes because every joke is an inside joke and people are confused. And, he was going on about how John Ascroft will and should step down. You know, the usual political banter..
  5. Wow. Thank you Matt. Thank you for a wonderful show. Makes me wish I could have followed him around Canada. Maybe next time. Anyways, since my memory is bloody terrible and can't remember the exact setlist order, all I can remember is: Started off with Blue Skies & finished with Can't Get Shot in the Back. Encore consisted of Apparitions acoustic, Empty Road and Can't Get....Went into the break with Hello Time Bomb. We had The Rat & Carmelina from Audio. Good stuff. Besides that, very heavy from the new album. Also, nice hearing Giant again... I LOVED the banter in between songs, especially before the last verse in North American for Life how the group just stopped and Matt was talking about Afghanistan. Funny stuff. Somebody help with the exact setlist. Sorry for my memory!! p.s. sorry to the people that I was supposed to meet up with - I had some car problems and got there late!!!
  6. I actually forgot about Pearl Jam. Not really a big fan, but speaking of bands that completely change their setlists (DMB), I think Pearl Jam deserves big ups. There's a band that COMPLETELY changes their setlist. Or, atleast with the live cds they released a few years ago...
  7. The fact that Bush won the popular vote is very sad. Remember, he lost it last time and that was a legit excuse for the re-count of the votes. This time, however, he won the electoral and popular vote and Kerry conceding is the right thing to do. I really think that Bin Laden tape helped push Bush over the top. The American fence-sitters got scared and figured that if Bush got Saddam out, he will get Osama out too..
  8. Well, if it's improvised, how would you really know until showtime! (sorry for the sarcastic tone, but just thought it was too easy to pass...)
  9. The Tragically Hip have the most varied setlist I've ever seen. They play atleast 7 or 8 different songs every night. Once maybe Matt starts playing 20 songs, he'll really shake up the setlist. But, if anything, it looks like he atleast changes the order every night, which is cool. I guess in a couple of more albums he'll start throwing some Ghetto or BM songs back into the setlist...
  10. yeah, sorry about that. I assumed everyone read it already.
  11. Craptacular indeed. But, not surprising...
  12. "Last night in Halifax the band decided to do away with set lists and spontaneously perform. They liked it so much, in fact, that the trend may continue. Hopefully it was as interesting for the audience as it was for the band (or they hope so, at least). While Matt realizes that we live in a very safe and predictable world, the hope is that people will ultimately enjoy feeling uncomfortable about it." Sounds good to me!! Can't wait for Montreal!!
  13. I always liked the Rico video myself! But, I know it doesn't come close to Apparations or Strange Days...
  14. I bought me the blue Rock n Roll shirt, but I wish they made them in small. I bought a medium, and it's too big for me...
  15. Ahh, this is no longer fun...
  16. I dunno. There's a difference between walking away from someone who intelligently disagrees with your point of view and and walking away from malicious intent to embarass and waste your time. I believe that Matt walked away from people wasting his time and don't consider that as cowardly.
  17. pretty rough, no? I just hope she loses her pop career that's all...
  18. Yep..I agree there..
  19. Very cool. TOTALLY didn't know that. Thanks!
  20. Who says that showing emotion is a bad thing? Futhermore, how many artists can you say utilize any medium, like a blog, on a continual basis to announce their political and social beliefs? Not many, so I don't think that Matt can be critized for saying what's on his mind. I might not agree with a lot of what Matt says, but I certainly won't criticize him for expressing his opinion. But, if you feel that he can't handle situations the way you would, then that is your opinion and that's ok I guess...
  21. Totally cool that you're in it for the music. So am I to a certain degree. But, he's not a hypocrit. I mean, he clearly said he got spammed and morons kept swearing and posting extremist views with the intentions of messing up the comment board. He wanted to have a forum for intelligent conversation and people kept messing it up on purpose. Wouldn't you be upset too? I would...
  22. I always laughed my butt off during the first year watching the show. Then, after I watched it so much, I just didn't find it funny. I found it too stupid. Maybe it's just me...
  23. Don't watch reality shows, but am hooked to the Apprentice!
  24. EASY for me. Sticky Fingers all the way!! Sister Morphine is my favorite song from the album. Brown Sugar? Wild Horses? Bitch? Can't you hear me knockin? Especially live? No question, this is their best album, imo...
