  2. Last time I checked, even the Work Project link has been removed from Matt's website...
  3. Well, not really. Besides, Sum 41 will be around for much longer than Simple Plan anyways (especially with the direction of the new album)...

  5. If anyone doesn't choose War, Joshua or Actung, then I'd be very intrigued....
  6. Finally - someone who likes the term 'facts'!
  7. I beg to differ: rock n' roll factually came out AFTER country and rhythm & blues influenced it. Who do you think was listening to rock n' roll in the earlier 50's? Blues and country fans, that's who. No one said they were the same thing, just that rock partly originated from country - which is true... Actually Rock originated from Elvis Presley, and Buddy Holly. And they're from the same time period... I said country INFLUENCED rock and I never questioned who invented or popularized Rock, just what influenced it. Please don't say that Elvis created Rock: he popularized it among white people. Rock n' Roll was well alive in the South before he came along. Chuck Berry certainly deserves more credit that Elvis. With all respect to Elvis, even he said it himself that he 'borrowed' rock n' roll from so many talented black musicians. Furthermore, it's a simple fact that Buddy Holly combined country, rockabilly, gospel, pop, R&B and the blues. He is indeed a revolutionary, but his roots can't be denied. Music just isn't about notes - it's also the spirit and soul that rock n' roll took from country and blues, which is true...
  8. This is the one CD I take with me on a deserted island...
  9. Considering my sister went to school with him, I have nothing but good things to say about him and his good music...
  10. What if you had two kids: who's your favorite? That's my annoying way of saying: 'love 'em both'.

  13. it might come across that way, but I'm a lover not a fighter! I'm just trying to point out a fact, that's all. And yes, for the record, I'll buy an album of Matt gargling, so the alt-country/rock thing is cool...

  15. It's funny how Fox News tried spinning the whole thing on drug use and marijuana. Yeah, that's way that crazy fan jumped up on stage. Yeah, that's gotta be the reason...
  16. i thought most rock music was based off of Folk and Blues but i can see the country in there yes, folk & blues too - hence the 'among others' line!
  17. Two things: yes, the lead singer of Boy sounds exactly like Sam Roberts; and, if Sam had a shaved head with no beard, he wouldn't be where he is today. Yes, he makes good music, but I'm just saying that I know a lot of girls who dig his look and like his music because he's hot, so there...
  18. too bad because Rock music is merely an extension of country (among other things too)...
  19. Back to the Future babaaayy!!
  20. Oh, for sure he's gonna do it. Matt's the kind of guy that knows exactly what he wants and usually ends up doing things, no matter who he pleases or pisses off...

  22. Been a fan since '89, so I know all about their awesomeness. Was at the Montreal show a few days ago. Great, as usual...
  23. Wow. RIP Damageplan & Pantera. I was never a fan, but I remember in high school how many kids loved them. I can't believe that someone would jump onstage during a show, kill the guitarist and then open fire into the crowd. Wow, what's this world come to, huh?
