I'm pretty sure they are real quotes. They are real sources, so it'd be illegal to make up false quotes (and the book seems to be careful with the legal aspects, like the "Director's cut" of "Matt and Dave go to Hollywood with Jenna Jameson". Also, the reviews are fairly true. Many stories end up rambling and seemingly pointless, but thats part of the fun of it. The book is clearly not for all tastes, but those who like it like it alot.

Suburbia is too involving to make a good single. You need an attention span to get into it. I think Giant (my favorite MGB song) would have made a kick-ass single though. That opening guitar riff gets me every time.

If your making a list of the best, Neil Young should make it onto the list for being the most prolific songwriter alive, if not because of the merit of his talent. As for THE best, it really goes into personal oppinion. I prefer someone more like Tom Waitts or Nick Cave.

Generic rock with an emo lead singer. See "Chevelle" and "Breaking Benjamin" for more examples that are relatively easier on the ears.

Just downloaded it the other night. Its probably the best Prince cover I've ever heard. Since its the only Prince cover I've ever heard.

It had a much less publicized release. There was nowhere near as much publicity as there was on Avalanche, which was what made people consider it a failure. Its all relative.

The question is how much does he sing? if its a collaboration, is it maybe one line?

What does the blue cover look like? Just the same, except blue tint instead of red? And does anyone have a better copy of the cover art? I need one to print out to stick in the burned copy I'm giving my friend for her birthday, along with some other burned MG stuff.

Thats insane. Sure, it'd be nice to have the original, but your talking about spending a hundred dollars per song just to have a CD case? I'd pay 300 for Lo-Fi if it had 301 dollars in cash in the case, otherwise I'm quite happy burning Enjoy the Silence and Fated to a CD that has about an hour and a half more music on it.

What I need: Close Go Fly Blind The Bombmaker Last of the Ghetto Astonauts(just the song) All Together Big City Life Everything Bon Tempo/Rodchester except Before you Go What I've got: Pretty much everything else listed on the lyrics page, plus live versions of Giant, Apparitions, Weapon and a live reading of Magic Goats of Presto Island, as well as a small snipit of Matt doing South Park's "Uncle F---er" Oh, and a few 20 second digital camera movies of Matt in concert in Regina this year if anyone really wants those.

It's just one of those movies like Blair Witch-its nothing if you don't go along with it. Not really a fair comparission though, BWP sucked.... But still, part of why its so catchy is because people give it the credit to be. The "It's pretty much the best movie of all time" attitude is itself the movie's biggest joke.

Matt isn't balding ...spritualy

I got my copy a a Chapters in Vancouver (on Robson I think? The three-story one on a slant downtown)and it was always with me on my trip. I've read my favorite stories (Magic Goat,Beyond this Place, Ditches on a long road home) over several times, its deffinatly one of my top five favorite books. If anyone hasn't done so yet, check out the other Manifestoes released after the book over at imgarbage, theres some really fantastic additions. And, I'm pretty damned sure Television didn't happend...The question is, did The Night Opus? Thats really the only story in there I'd even begin to think is true.
