For once, I agree. I was really surprised by how enjoyable it was, and definitely a lot better than any episodes from teh recent seasons. Very worthwhile.

I've only had Hospital Music for a few days, but it seems kind of hard to compare it to Avalanche, first off, because I haven't listened to Avalanche in ages (I should search to make sure I even have it still), and because it's often hard for me to decide which album is better if the difference isn't a massive one. I've always measured how good an album is based on how many songs I enjoy listening to as opposed to skipping to get to the songs I like in which case, Avalanche may have a slight lead.

Nonsense. The double standard here is the one you're using which pretty much states that anyone of faith or religion can do no right. Some people often say things like, "Look at Bush, he says he's religious, and he's a terrible president, therefore, religious people make bad presidents." Sure, Bush does claim to be religious, and he is a terrbile president, but somehoe people overlook that all of the best presidents have been religious people as well. People of faith have contributed a great deal to society and are capable of great advancements, for instance, Isaac Newton, or for a more modern example, the fellow in charge of the Human Genome Project. Yeah, how wonderful the world would be if they were all marginalized. You know, it's not hard to think of a few bad atheists as well.

But how much does that really say?

It's like this one girl I knew, who claimed the only reason her uncle was in prison for the life was because he's black, and not at all because he shot 2 people, killing one of them.

People seem to look at religion with a whole lot of double standards. People say religion is oh so evil because it claims to be good, but does so many evil things, yet atheists have done their fair share of evil throughout history, especially recent history, so any idea of moral superiority for atheism is complete crap. Religion isn't inherently evil, and neither is atheism... the only thing that's evil is people. People can use religion to justify evil, for instance the Europeans used it as a justification in order to colonize the planet and enslave countless people, and people can use the cause of atheism to do evil as well, as seen with the Stalin regime, which sought to wipe out all religious people through the mass murder of tens of millions. It is not a question of whether there is a god to justify given actions with or something else entirely, people always find a way make what's right wrong, and what's wrong right.

If you're gonna try to assert some sort of moral superiority for Catholicism, you're gonna have to disgregard a few centuries of history and what not.

It's not THAT bad of an idea, for one thing, a movie gives you something to talk about when it's over. Probably makes things a little easier if you're starting from nothing, like if you barely know the person or something. Besides, it's not like people go on dates when they just see a movie and immediately go their separate ways and do nothing else afterwards.

I've never worked as a cashier of any sort for any long period, but I do notice, as a customer, all sorts of annoying things that shoppers do that seem to make life difficult for employees and other customers. One of the things the bothers me the most, is that at some of our stores, we have those self-checkout machines, where you scan the items you're buying, pay into the machine, and leave... there are signs posted at the machines that say "10 items or less" and yet people come to them with full shopping carts and hold everyone up by taking forever, and it seems the more items, the more likely some error will occur, so then they have to pull an employee in to help them correct the error, even though they're being douchebags about it and talking about how much they hate the machines for being so error-prone.

I'm not fond of that either. But I think we all know by now I'm not fond of anything, ever.

Looks terrible, I get so sick of the artsy and weird for the sake of being artsy and weird crap.

I've changed my position. I think I probably will see it, but I probably won't like it.
-
Also, there's something about idealizing the 1950's.

You never explained how funny you think it is, so there's no point of reference to answer the question.

Saw it, and thought it was quite good. Although, he did seem portray it as if universal healthcare can do no wrong, and American healthcare can do no right; but I suppose it's only fair because the media here seems to constantly portray the opposite standpoint. Edit: also, this is the 9000th post in the Rentals, Television, and Readables section.

Nah, but it is pretty stupid.

That guy has the best last name on the planet.

Transformers It was entertaining while it lasted, but definitely not great. Towards the end I had to go to the bathroom, and came back to the movie without feeling like I've missed anything. The ending was sorta predictable and cliched as well. Not that I expected something moving or amazing, mainly I just needed to go someplace air-conditioned for a couple of hours on a 102F (39C) degree day. So I guess, all in all, I was satisfied.

How neat!... All I see is an ad for Stargate SG-1 DVD's. ;)

As much as I dread this becoming an "indie-er than thou" contest, I'll ask anyways. What/who do you think is the best band or artist that you think is extremely unheard of? I would say, th Russian rock band DDT. While very poplular in Russia (they've played to audiences of around 120,000 people), it seems few have heard of them in the west. Their music is somehow both strange and unusual, and at the same time very familiar.

But church IS dangerous, priests will touch you and what not.
