Yeah, I always thought the routines were way too short, and figured they probably cut out a lot or something... but if it were really good stuff, they probably wouldn't have cut it out, no?

Yet more idiocy. Did you somehow miss the part of health class that taught that sex is more than pleasurable friction... that it in fact often carries a variety of consequences? How many 11 year old girls do you know that are ready to mothers? Most kids that age don't even know what sex is, what it's for, or much of anything else about it, and yet you think they're ready to decide to have it?

I guess someone has to.

This is the most laughable crap I've heard since the Flat Earth Society. Of course children shouldn't be regarded as equaly intelligent and capable as adults. Know why? Because they're not. If you had a brain tumor, do you know any 5 year old you'd trust to operate on you? Or if your house was being robbed, would it comfort you know that the cop on the way is an 8-year-old? Would you feel at ease, knowing the pilot of the airline flight you're on barely has the hand-eye coordination to tie his own shoes? Silly examples to be sure, but it does illustrate a point... that people, aren't born knowing all they need to know to get by in society, nor do they even have the physical capailities necessary to function within society from early age. This is why you can't put a newborn into a suit and tie, and then tell it find a job and to make its own living and all that. Fact is, this mental capacity and such skills are developed gradually over time, this is true of humans, as it is for many animals (which incidentally, could not be said to be bound by ancient discriminatory bias simply because they were also thought of as lesser in their youth). While many societies disagree on just when a child makes the transition into adulthood, they all do agree that a transition is necessary, this is probably because some people mature slower than others, and some faster, and so there really can't be a universal consensus on the matter. It isn't discrimination, however, because everyone knows that children do grow up to become adults (unlike your attempt to parallel this with the historical treatment of blacks and women... you see... black people don't "mature" to become white, and women don't "mature" to become men, but children do, become adults). It's simply a process. To illustrate, I just started working at a hospital less than 2 months ago, I'm also only 20 years old... if I were now to apply for the position of chief of medicine at the hospital, I would be laughed out of the room, simply because my experience and knowledge relating to what will be demanded of me in that job are at present woefully inadequate to fill such a role. However, if I continue my education, and continue gaining the necessary experience, I know that if I were to make it my goal, it could some day become realistic; this isn't discrimination, it is simply allowing rights and responsibilies based upon perceived capacity to handle them.

I've seen a few episodes of the current season and the last one. A lot of those folks are clever, and even though they're kind of funny, for some reason they don't make me laugh as much as more professional comedians tend to.

Thought it was kinda amusing.

I didn't like Halo 1 or 2 very much, and I'm even less into gaming than I was in the past... so the odds aren't very good for 3.

I'm not really interested in any of those shows.

One could easily claim it's about the exact opposite as well.

I have very little sympathy for most homeless people. For one thing, it seems to be that most of them smoke and drink a hell of lot. I would think if they really did want to lead better lives, very expensive habits that only decrease their odds of a better life, would be habits they would probably try to do without. If one can barely get enough food to survive, and yet somehow alcohol, cigarettes, and other drugs are plentiful, then it seems... it often does come down to bad decisions. Yes, I know that some of them are disabled, and the odds of them "making it" are extremely low, but most of the ones I've seen appear to be perfectly capable of earning at least a moderate wage if they'd make the effort. I've been around the homeless plenty, I've ridden on trains for hours, where they'd congregate, and I'd listen to them talk amongs themselves. Many of them are relatively young (around mid 20's to high 30's) and just from hearing them talk, you can tell they're not mentally handicapped in a way that renders them incapable of work. One doesn't necessarily even need a good education, my brother's highest educational achievement thus far is his high school diploma, and yet he makes around 50,000 USD per year. My girlfriend's father didn't even finish high school, and yet he runs his own successful business (mind you, he also came to this country without so much as speaking English and also without a home of his own). I would guess that homelessness could be cut in half if people genuinely made the effort.

Eh, it's all crap.

I had the same thoughts about the movie "Lost in Translation"... which is, according to IMDB anyhow, at least partly intended to be a comedy. Except, if I recall correctly, it was closer to 3 hours than 2... it was incredibly pointless, and NOTHING really funny happened throughout.

Joseph Arthur's lyrics contain large amounts of Christian imagery and references, and he's actually a pretty damn good artist.

I didn't like it very much. It was one of those films in which you can walk out for a quite a while, and come back without it feeling like you've missed anything. Once you get passed the visuals, which weren't really all that mind-blowing anyhow, and you're not left with much of anything.
