Strange I had this conversation yesterday! Pledge of Allegiance is a great song, but the synth version on the album with the beat he gave it is quite boring. During the Avalanche tour, the piano version was absolutely awesome. The acoustic version is pretty good too. Champions of Nothing was the first real killer album opening since Man of Action. Put Out Your Lights gave the tone for WLRRR but was just a song on the record.

I personally love him for his pants...he's got fucking beautiful pants!

Like Anton said, it's work. You like what you do for a living but it's not always easy. It's not go in the studio, play the guitar, play the bass, play the drum, sing, go home to sleep and tada a record is made. So to achieve something of quality you have to work for it. I'm sure even David Gilmour didn't always have fun in the studio and probably "killed" himself for a record and he's not far from being a genius.

taro_twist: The only songs from AOB that were played live are Carmelina, Advertising on Police Cars, The Fall of Man, Under The Influence, The Rat Who Would Be King, I believe The Workers Sing a Song of Mass Production and more recently, Sort of a Protest Song. I say 'only' as in not other were played and not in a 'he should've played more' way. It is 7 songs out of 12 lol.

Hey Geoff tell me, how did the whole credit thing work? By that I mean how was it stated that Matt and Dave wrote the music to all the songs except for songs like Alabama Motel Room, Rico, etc credited to the band? Matt wrote the songs on his guitar of piano and then Dave and Matt would write all the part for you and Ian to play? This question came to me after you said you and Ian wrote the riff for Indestructible but were not actually credited for it.

Well from what I read on his blog (unless I misread) he's buying a house in the suburbs because he's sick of vancouver.

Why not change Forums for something like SMF or PHPBB which are free and probably upgradable from other platforms.

The best thing I found is eagson! The thing lets you name MP3 files with the name of the tags and vica versa, lets you modify multiple files or individual, auto number them, etc. It's pretty amazing.
