They were using it temporarily due to lack of imagination. Then they became popular and were stuck with it. Matt's declared his hate for the name many times over the years. oh thanks, i've always wondered what the story was about that. glad to know Matt hates the name, and he's not an ego-maniac.

What a coincidence that the Republican Convention is being held in NYC, home of the WTC crisis that was Bush's shining moment. Then Rudy Guliani hops onto the Republican stage and makes a speech praising Bush and his 9/11 heroics, while a huge backdrop of the NYC skyline hangs behind him. Thats kinda sickening, don't you think? Trying to use 9/11 and the WTC to gain votes and a political upper-hand? Yet nobody in the media is talking about this. dumb.

If i was Dave i wouldn't have joined a band called "Matthew Good Band". Was he not there at the band meeting when they decied what to call the band? Personally i think its a pretty weird thing to name a band after yourself. Does anyone know why Matt named the band after himself? Is that just an ego-trip or poor imagination?

ok, well thats good enough an explanation. I don't really care about the real reasons, i just never knew anything about the break-up except that one day i picked up a CD (Avalanche) and it just said "Matthew Good" on it instead of MGB. Like i said, i don't really give a ****, because MGB to me was just always Matt Good, and bunch of mediocre musicians. P.S. which one is Dave? The blonde drummer guy, our the dark-haired guitarist with that weird solo in the "Hello Time Bomb" video?

i know, me too. I've shifted my opinion on the issue a few times over the years.

Actually i find the "Bush does nothing and Cheney is the real President" theory to not really be true at all. I wish i could remember the great example i saw of that, but i can't. Actually its probably more like Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney all being puppet masters to whatever they are seperately in charge of. And is Bush Jr. really the puppet of Bush Sr. if Bush Jr. doesn't even talk to his pops about handling the Iraq situation? Bush is pretty much a cocky dude who needs to control everything. I admire him very much for the strength of his convictions, but there's a fine-line between that and arrogance.

Bush isn't a puppet, he's the puppet-master. Hand = Bush (and admin) Puppet = Americans who vote for Bush.

i'll add another nod to John Stewart being the man. Also, they have definately attacked Bush on his "Vietnam" record with him serving (or not-so-serving) in the US National Guard. But he isn't running on his 30-year old war record, and there aren't any swiftboat-like ads out now criticizing him and creating a big media buzz. Hopefully this is just the media flavor of the month, and all this stuff will be gone shortly after the Republican Convention...which will create some new interesting stories for people to pounce on. Cue John Stewart!!!

Those swift boats mother f'ers should just shut their traps. Is their anything MORE INSIGNIFICANT in the political race for the future of the world than what these 2 dorks did 30 years ago??? I realize it does matter, since Kerry is running partly on his "heroic" war merits, but it should just stop now. How about some talk on the ISSUES? Bush must loves all this because it deflects attention from all his BS. Better to be criticized for not condemning these ads than be criticized for all the other stuff i don't have to mention he's done wrong. 4 years ago i liked Bush. the last year i've soured on him alot but defended him for some unfair criticize on the war. But now i realize the guy is the most arrogant politician this side of Jean Chretien. Time to gut the mofo and his admin.
