Grand idea, once I have a girlfriend again and we reach a stage where cute videos are accepted/welcomed... No, I'm not counting my chickens...

Today when walking downtown, my friend pointed to a newstand with Palin on the front page, and said "Look, it's your new girlfriend". I instinctively said "That bitch!"

Green Leader Only Became A Canadian Citizen At 24
Morglor9 replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
Being that they moved here in 1972, could there be a possibility that someone was dodging the draft, the family moves for the sake of the father or brother not having to go to 'Nam? If so, then I'm cool with that. Though it's probably not, it's just what comes into my mind whenever I hear about someone moving from the US to Canada during that time period. As for her leadership of the Green Party, I don't think it matters for two reasons: 1) She's been a Canadian citizen for 30 years, as was mentioned 2) The Green Party is too small for her to ever become Prime Minister. The massive shift of votes required for her to win the election is a fairly unrealistic possibility. -
The"this Is A Screen Capture Of My Desktop" Thread
Morglor9 replied to Hyphnip's topic in Open Discussion
I'm a huge fan of the Arrested Development desktop, it's very cool. -
I do suppose that I should comment on Life In Spite Of Itself. I would say that it is a decent demo, and it has some good potential, but I am glad that the current version is only a demo. It's been a couple days since I last listened to it, but if I recall correctly there's something about the vocals that wasn't quite right to me. Musically it could also use a little more texture, more substance. It's kind of late, I can't elaborate beyond that at the moment. But I do like it, and I want it to go places and end up sitting on the new album.

RIP Rick A great keyboardist, with a very particular style. -
Nope, I love it. "Up again, down again, out of your head..." Wonderful.

How much are you willing to spend? There's one on ebay right now, but it's $105, 12 bids on it, and I believe has 2 days left.

Modern Guilt.

The new album is not at all boring, I think it's got some great work. I love Orphans, and everything through to Volcano is pretty awesome. But I would say my favourite from Beck thus far is Sea Change, notably the song "Lost Cause". I think I shall listen to it once I'm done listening to Avalanche. -
In all seriousness, it seemed like something I might write, as it was similar to many of the things in my other document or two that I have kicking around where I put thoughts like that. The writing style of it is similar. And yes, I'm absolutely positive those are mine. As an added bonus, thanks for editing my post to remove the part about forgetting to source the quote, which I stated that I usually do.
-
Huh. Actually, I found that in some random file that I'd saved on my computer, and assumed it was myself. It didn't have a source written in the file, usually I jot down the source when saving someone else's quote. Now that I think about it, that's from one of those manifestos of his, isn't it? Terribly sorry Matt. Do forgive. It's still really awesome.

What Did You Last Watch On Tv?
Morglor9 replied to Shiri's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
TV exists to devour your soul and numb your mind. -
Sad as this is, last movie I saw was Sex and the City last Saturday. Yeah. Went with that person who makes going to a movie you have no interest in totally worthwhile.

And today, in my post-anesthetic stupor, I wondered into CD Plus and picked up The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Yeah, David Bowie. One awesome album. Ziggy played guitar... -
Here is a question I'm throwing out to everyone. Whenever I play 99% of Us is Failure, on any stereo, the low tones on the keyboard (or whatever they are) cause everything in the room to resonate like there's no tomorrow. When I play it on my stereo in my room, it sounds like my DVD player is going to disintegrate from vibration, at any volume. Same kind of thing in my car. Anyone else find this?

Full Band Setlist Megathread (merged)
Morglor9 replied to Monochrome Rainbow's topic in Matthew Good
He wrote early on in the tour (or even before it started) not to expect too much variation, because it was two hard to teach a newly formed band all of his material. He just picked what he wanted and ran with it. Apparently they only had a week or so to rehearse before the tour. Being that they aren't a permanent unit (like Matthew Good Band was), he has to pay them all. Not saying Matthew Good Band didn't get paid, but... eh, you know what I mean.
