  1. the extended ending to Under The Influence. only played live, not a seperate song.
  2. edit: double post.
  3. Are we talking about WLRRR or Avalanche here? Avalanche shipped Gold. Last I heard WLRRR had sold something in the 20-30 range. Don't remember hearing it shipped Gold.
  4. Bontempo was Matt & Rich, that's it.
  5. if he cut and pasted the images, it counts.
  6. new sww was a live-only song played in 2002. get with the program, sally.
  7. I haven't read the whole thread so you'll have to excuse me if what I say has already been covered by someone else. But the above is not an example of selling out (and selling out is not subjective, it's just too often a term tossed around by those who don't know what it means and as a result has become not much more than a bullshit term). Selling your music to be used in a commercial (whether you get paid in cash or jaguars) is not selling out. U2? Flaming Lips? Have they sold out? No, certainly not. It's no different than letting your song be used in a film. Selling out is when you change your style of music for the sole purpose of appealing to a wider audience (see: Serial Joe) or to write a song meant to be used as a jingle for an advertising campaign. For example if U2 had written a song for Apple with lyrics about how great Apple is and then actually put it on their album, it would be a good example of selling out (see: Nelly/Air Force Ones).
  8. Villain of the Year is a song that was cut from Avalanche. It was never recorded for the album or played live. It included the lyrics that would eventually be tacked onto the end of the new Symbollistic White Walls. And no it's not 'picturize'.
  9. a lot of them did donate their own money.
  10. I'm not saying he should've done it, I'm saying he shouldn't have slagged off the people who did.

    New Wave

listen to some costello from the 80's. gwen stefani is being credited with bringing new wave back into the spotlight although her solo record is subpar.
  12. It's not. People should do a lot of things, but they don't. In response, you can do your best to make a difference (whether you reap any benefits from it or not is irrelevant, money is still being raised) or you can sit at your computer and cry about those who are actually doing something. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say the fact that he's ill is making him unable to think clearly.
  13. I wasn't referring to anything specific in this thread, had I been I would've quoted it. pay attention, kiddo. edit: I hope to god that's sarcasm.
  14. this is all just getting incredibly pathetic. so much drama and nonsense over a fucking journal. if he keeps it, good for him, if he doesn't, big deal. does seeing a picture of him with a moustache really make your day or something? get a grip.
  15. I'd like to see that quote, because if he actually said that, it's an incredibly ridiculous thing to say considering he fully supported that MG fan club some time ago (with all proceeds going to charity).
  16. How do you think Pony Boy and All Together leaked in the first place? He wasn't joking, it's in the works.
  17. for the record, the only 'b-side' from avalanche is comfortable criminals. As someone already said, the others were 'exclusives', they were never intended to be on the album.
  18. Cuomo had the glasses in like 94.
  19. for the record, the 'radio edit' is the original version of the song. He went back and re-recorded it later which resulted in the longer version.
  20. It's a different song and it was only played lived once or twice. That's what Rich told me ages ago. It was cut, obviously.
  21. it's actually not that terrible at all. some rough spots here and there. you're just not used to somebody else singing the song.
  22. you're all wrong. mike bell is the guy who matt hung up on, writes for the calgary sun.
