I do like the idea of having so many mixes and versions of the same song, like the two versions of Near Fantastica. Or, as I am listening to now, we've got The Wretched, then we've got The Wretched (Version - Keith Hillebrandt), which is just a whole different kind of badass. It's classy.
They are electronica...psychedelic everything with a bit of a middle eastern sound...kinda trance, kinda not. Though I've heard their next album will be closer to rock. Vocals usually suck, but there aren't alot of them in most songs.
You might have to be a fan of electronica to enjoy it, I'm not sure...but they are about as mainstream as psy gets.
I'm pretty sure I can guess the results of this one, but it's more out of interest than anything. I just listened to their latest album straight through for the first time in months....excellent stuff, when they lay off the vocals.
I have Pretty Hate Machine, Downward Spiral, Fragile, and Broken, as well as several others which are almost entirely remixes of the aforementioned albums. And yeah, I do intend to legitimately....'reaquire' these next time I hit a music store...if they have them.
So does Matt get paid for what the retailers buy, or what the retailers sell? Not much of a distinction, I know...but...well...might as well learn about this.
I'd be interested to know what it costs to produce something like this...studio time, CD pressing, packaging art and fabrication, distribution...gotta assume the record company is going to pay for most of that.
Once I saw a guy who looked like Matt, but it turned out he was just an idiot customer who wanted candy cane chocolate fudge peanut butter ultracookies imported from Prussia via autogyro, or some equally unlikely product.
Beyond that, the concerts.
