Well I am always interested in live Matt Good because of the different ways he will play many songs. The Live Road concept basically gave us a live album of the last tour though, and he has said he would be interested in releasing entire shows in the live road format for an upcoming acoustic tour. For me, and I know this is unrealistic, but I would love like a 3 cd set live anthology, some tracks from the MGB days, some tracks from the 2003-2013 period and then a live acoustic disc. To me that would be a dream come true.

Thank you soooo much! Been looking for this stuff for so long, I remember seeing some of it on tv back in the day, but have been trying to find it with no luck for ten years now! Awesome!

I was at the Courtenay show and the Victoria show and yes the crowds were annoying. Like many of you guys here I see multiple shows every tour and hit 4 this time round. The shows in Vancouver are almost always great crowds, and Nanaimo seems pretty decent too. Victoria crowds are usually kinda lame, low energy and yeah lots of weird comments from the crowd. The Courtenay show someone yelled Fuck You at Matt. He never said another word to the crowd, not a thank you, didn't play walk hard or Jimmy Buffet in fact after the encore he just walked straight off not even an acknowledgement, and I cant say I blame him. What I find odd is that this behaviour only seems to happen at Matt Good shows. I've been to over 100 concerts all over the place and the only thing that even comes close to the degree of fans hurling insults was when I saw the Who play a fan club only show in England where the crowd seemed like their only goal was to piss Pete Townshend off. Pete seems to thrive on this though, even ad libbing lyrics to Magic Bus (after fans shouting requests all night long) where he sang "you see at home, on my own, I play Magic Bus, every fucking day, and you're not there!" Matt on the other hand clearly does not thrive on this kinda behaviour so my question is Why do so many of his fans at this point in his career go to his shows just to insult him? Or be rude or obnoxious towards him? because I dont see this at other concerts. I don't hear people tell David Lee Roth to shut up and sing, I don't hear people telling Neil Osborne to go fuck himself...so why Matt? I dont understand.

Yeah I've noticed about 4-5 shows so far havent been uploaded, wonder if they just skipped over them or didnt have time, many were in Saskatchewan. Its funny Arrows has been played at every show, so I'm guessing it will be uploaded before the end of the tour. I would love a live performance of Born to Kill before the end of the tour! This live road thing is fantastic, Ive hoped for years Matt would do something like this and to get all of these tracks to build a live album off of is a real treat. The prospect of that spring tour with additional recordings has got me salivating as well! Big thanks to Matt and team for not just doing this but for keeping it up for nearly every show of the tour!

1. I've been to quite a few of your shows since my first in 2008 (15 or so both acoustic and full band) and because you play so heavily on the new albums the setlist from one tour to the next is such a durastic change. I mean what 50% of this tours songs were not played last tour? how many other bands can say that? Yeah I'd love to hear some other stuff mixed in and we do get treated to that sometimes, last tour for two dates we got Running For Home which was something really special for me, just because I never ever thought I'd get to hear it live. Now this year Born to Kill is an option, and one that for fans could be released in good quality through Live Road is unbelievably exciting to me! After so many shows I there is still the element of surprise to your concerts and I love that. 2. I'm a huge fan of your acoustic shows, there is a spontaneity to them and a crowd interaction that make them something very unique. The Media Club secret show from a few years ago is one of my favourite shows I've ever seen from an artist and I've seen bands like The Who, Neil Young and Zeppelin. So an acoustic tour of Canada would be fantastic, I'd be at every show I could make it too in BC. 3. Recording those shows would be amazing, on your last acoustic US tour we went to the secret show in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. And each show was a totally different experience, not just setlist or preformance was but also in how it was with the crowd, to be able to have entire shows available from such a tour would be amazing! Bands like The Who and Pearl Jam have done this for years and I've always bought some of my favourite shows from each year. But with you shows Matts, I'd be tempted to buy the whole set, just because of the differences between the shows and the fantastic amount of emotion and energy you put into each one. Awesome ideas!

Yeah I've emailed Much too because there is tons of live footage in that documentary, it looks like at least some portions of the Nanaimo show from 2000 was filmed too, a few on stage segments are shown and some backstage stuff there as well. and then there is Snow Jobs and others as well! I wonder how the rights work for that footage, like as the artist does Matt have access to it, or Universal? or is it strictly the property of MuchMusic

thanks for your reply. Thats awesome to get an 800 pixel, Ive tried some others but so far havent managed to get a larger one. Thanks for the tip!

A few months ago when All Together was found on 7digital it had some cover art that came with it, but on the site the art is 500x500 pixels. Does anyone have the cover art in a larger format? I am trying to make a cd cover for it and the art there is blurry when stretched. Thanks

Yes! I have dreamed of Matt doing something like this for sooo long. I had thought back when he launched M+ it might feature this kinda material. Following this tour is going to be awesome!

I am digging this album some much, can't stop listening to Guns of Carolina...and now Via Dolorosa is just rocking. Can't wait to hear the last 3 songs and the record as a whole!

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I've never found the ticket prices overly expensive, I go to a lot of concerts and I've payed more for most bands than I do for Matthew Good shows. I look at it like this, the average I spend on a show is in the $100 range, so I get two Matt Good shows for that price, I live on Vancouver Island so I also factor in that many bands I enjoy only play Vancouver so ferry costs and hotel dock me a couple hundred to get over there to see them. So because Matt is literally playing 3 shows in my backyard I am able to go to three shows with tickets and travel costs coming to about $200. Thats easily what I pay to go to Vancouver to see most other bands just for one show, but I get three nights of entertainment out of it with Matthew Good, so to me its a Bargain. Also I figure Matt Tours about once every 2 years cross country, he also Releases an album every two years. So if I go to my three shows and buy my vinyl + CD copy of the new record Im probably spending about $150 per year on Matthew Good related expenditures. I know I spend alot more on other shit I enjoy alot less.

Maybe on the album there is a hidden track after it. haha wishful thinking

Much Music must have some of this stuff archived. I mean you got things like Snow Jobs 99 and that kinda thing. If you've ever seen the MGB Bio they ran around 2001 it contains footage of MGB playing live in the early days (Matt has blonde hair) and it shows several clips from a 2000 show in Nanaimo BC at the Port Theater. Maybe Matt Doesn't have this stuff, but someone does.

Anybody have recording capabilities for this?
-
what about uploading to a torrent community, like dimeadozen? Ive seen some Matt Good shows there in the past, but its usually stuff thats just been recorded. I would love to be able to get some of the older stuff, I have a few recordings I've made as well, I just cant figure out how to torrent them properly, I'd love to share if someone set something up
-
I've always enjoyed the idea of the "extended Single" two songs that just kinda run into each other. I really enjoy the songs tempo and punch! by the way It's Heartbreaker/Living Lovin' Maid that Zeppelin run together.
-
Excellent! thanks I'll give it a go!
-
Seeing as how the In A Coma version of All Together has been found, I was wondering if any of the musicians out their knew the chords used in it?
-
Did anyone ever track down the guy who recorded this? It was an unreal show with some real gems, great banter and alot of fun. I echo that other posters sentiments that Weapon sounded awesome with the crowd singing. Also the crowd singing the end of Running For Home was a highlight for me too. Anyways does anyone know of more recordings of this?
-
I'm not sure where I sit on this. I just went to see 54-40 mainly because I've always loved Dave Genn's guitar playing and I think his style added alot to those songs that I find missing with newer live renditions. However I think a big part of what people want is just to hear some of those old songs again. Hearing Running for Home was the highlight of the last tour for me, its my favourite song and one I never thought I'd hear. But when you think about a Matthew Good Band reunion you start to think well does that mean we'll get to hear "Fall of Man" "Born to Kill" "Enjoy the Silence" "Suburbia" and a ton of others that were mainstays in the bands set in their last few years? Matt pulls out a pretty good selection of songs when he tours, I think it was about 50 before he set out on his acoustic tour. Thats more than most artists I know will commit to possibly playing on any given tour. The unfortunate part is with a couple of exceptions its usually the same 50 songs, swap out a couple of songs from the last album for ones on the newest album and thats the set. More than half of the Matthew Good Band catalogue hasn't been on the potentials list for years, so maybe people are just yearning to hear some of those old songs. I'll go to ever show I can because Matt is one of the few artists who I enjoy everything they've put out, But it'd definitely be special to me to see the chance of hearing "Born to Kill" or "Let's Get it On" once in awhile, similar to how he just randomly busted out "Running for Home" at the end of last tour.

Awesome downloading now, definitely took note how strange it looked to see a Matt Good DVD up on Dime. Thanks again guitarman
-
Awesome, I'll be keeping an eye out!
-
Totally interested in the DVD if its put up on Dime. Would love something of Matts I could just plug into my tv and sit down and watch. Also agree that Emily Greene is a major sweetheart and I quite enjoyed her sets as well, had some time to talk to her in Portland and she seems like a real genuine nice and interested person.

Awesome videos! thanks.

this is what really blows my mind. Matt is not heavily promoted in the States, for someone down there to know of him and care enough to pay to go see him they must at the least be a moderate level of fan. So then why are these people just standing around talking through songs. You shoulda heard 99.9% in Seattle, Matt might has well been standing in the middle of the NYSE with just an acoustic guitar and no amplifier, I could barely hear him and I was in the front row.
