  1. Have any of you guys seen this?/ It's f-ing hilarious
  2. I'll grab this when I get home from work. Cool ;) Also, an interesting watch I found to be quite apt for this disucssion is this movie Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land I highly suggest taking a look: Discription: Does the news coverage reflect the reality on the ground? Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land carefully analyzes and explains how--through the use of language, framing and context--the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza remains hidden in the news media, and Israeli colonization of the occupied terrorities appears to be a defensive move rather than an offensive one. The documentary explores the ways that U.S. journalists, for reasons ranging from intimidation to a lack of thorough investigation, have become complicit in carrying out Israel's PR campaign. At its core, the documentary raises questions about the ethics and role of journalism, and the relationship between media and politics
  3. COMPLETELY! There is a whole world of ideas and amazment which so far exceed's stupid highschool, i have spent two years out of that hell hole and haven't regreted a day of it.
  4. Works in Bakery I believe in a grocery store...what a slack ass I do indeed Crusader! So you see why I don't take it seriously right? Any job at a grocery store cannot be taken seriously, it's a joke job, basically it pays the bills (barely). I also don't like to work much, id rather spend my time doing the things i want to do lol... i need to move to France for the 4 day work week lol
  5. I dunno James, you walk a fine line on that post, I know you didn't mean it as in "you cant have opinions" but why do you think its naive to talk about this situation? I think there are some conflicts or issues that people deem to be "unspeakable" unless you experiance it yourself. But people make opinions on situations all the time, are you saying all historians are inherantly naive? I am not trying to be argumentative, I just am asking for clearity. (i am also not saying your wrong, im just wondering what you mean by naive)
  6. i am totally incompetant, but i dont take my job very seriously, i really just dont care that much lol
  7. Designate it's totally fine that we disagree, you're right, you live in Israel, I don't. But that also doesn't mean that I dont know what im talking about ( im not saying that your saying that, for the record). I have read extensively on this issue and although that means i dont have as much experiance with horrifying conditions of fear, it does allow me a lot of objective analysis. 1. "But can you imagine 70 rockets in 24 hours going down on houses and innocent people and the goverment not doing a single thing about it? That's not rational." - No, I cannot say that is rational, however do you think that keeping people under lock down and not allowing them to access food is rational? I know that the Isreali government did this because my family priest (i am an atheist) goes to Israel every year to bring food to these people. I will be joining him next year if all goes to plan. Do you think occupying other people's land is rational? Do you think that having one of the largest list's of inhumane crimes done against an occupied population is rational? Of course NONE of this is, and we both probably agree, like you said, you disagree with a lot of things your government does. When it comes down to it, this is very personal, and very real for you, and it isn't at all for any of us. A lot of my family friends are Lebanese and Arab, as well as Jewish, so for me, obviously, I look at this in an entirely different light from a world away. My point basically is, is that this is very real for both Israeli and Palestinian and now Lebanese, and horrific crimes are done to each side, by each side. However, Israel, as an occupying force, under the U.N Charter, and the Geneva Convention, has to to take a sober look at this issue. Who occupied these lands before 1967? This whole issue is about that, and most Palestinians and Israeli's want a two state solution. What needs to begin though, is an antonement ( on both sides ) of past crimes, and some FAIR choices for BOTH sides, neither has really been done for either! The killing of innocents is ALWAYS deplorable, and whether your Jewish or Muslim you will agree, i personally stick to atheism and it does me just fine!
  8. it's true. at a grade 8 grad i worked at, this one kid was hitting on me. it was funny and cute. not to sound like a creepo either, but he looked like adam. a minature verison though Yah i've had youngins hit on me as well, and dependng on how young ( if its a year or two, really not that bad when you get into post secondary) its cool. But when it's younger-younger folks, its scary and maakes you feel like you need to run for fear of someone seeing that awkward and annoying situation... btw.. your first mistake was working at a grade 8 grad! ;)
  9. Oh totally man, the aggression is so disproportional to the actual offense. There have been hawks in the Olmert administration ( especially with Hamas democratically elected since the PA [Palestinian Authority]did nothing for the arabs in the region) that have been wanting to take out Hamas for a while and they saw this situation and said "we got it'em". It's not surpriseing that yesterday the U.S. veto'd a resolution to try to put a cap on this situation, all of this is very, very troubling.
  10. Well a lot of theory's have been put forward. One reason, is that geo-politically Israel is a fantastic spot to put bases for further campaign's into the middle east. It's basically a staging ground for future conflicts. Another is the whole religious right believeing that Israel has to be inhabited by Jewish people for Jesus to come back, so they pressure political support for basically anythin the Israeli government wants to do. Also, they buy a lot of arms from them. Those are a few quick reasons, but a lot of people have a lot more different and complicated and probably more coherant explainations. What I find so abhorrent and sadening is that these are the same people that were being slaughtered in WW2. They went from having been horrificly tortured, and killed by the millions to horrifically tortureing, killing, controlling others! How does that happen? I'm not saying the Palestinians haven't fought back and innocents have died, but overwhelmingly the Palestinians have suffored from Israel, not the other way around.
  11. lol that was intended choice of words lol
  12. that was an awsome link man lol
  13. how the hell do you cut yourself with a bra? for the record, i don't know much about bra's except how to take them off.
  14. bahahaha ah the young'ins, they have so much spunk these days lol
  15. The U.S. is already involved. Those tanks, and helicopters used to shoot at civilians and military targets the Israel gov't has been using for years are all made in the States. Also, Israel gets more money then ANY other country the U.S. gives money to. Its a revolving door, you buy our tanks etc, we give you billions of dollars for "infrastructure" like the Bantustan Wall separating the Palestinians and Israelis. The war if you look at it since the invasion of 1967 has continued since then, there has been pockets of peace, but really both sides have been killing each other for years. I am for Palestinian self-determination, so i will probably try to stay out of this conversation, because it always turns into a massive debate lol.. But yes. Horrific events are taking place and close friends of mine have family and friends in Lebanon, so i am basically praying that they're okay.
  16. Double major it up
  17. hahahaha totally, you make a good point, i didnt meant to say that your wrong or something, i just wanted to point out that he surrounds himself with a lot of evil people, and to think that he's an innocent bystander just seems naive.
  18. If the roles were reversed we'd have absolutely no idea how things would play out. Lives are too complicated to be able to say whether Bush would have been able to climb the ranks of political power in North Korea or not, remember he largely got into poltical power by his friends and family, they'd all have to be in North Korea too for that to happen. Also, i think i'd have to disagree with the evil part. He's the only president to have put a signing statement ( basically meaning that the law's he signs he can use at his discretion and does not have to follow) on hundreds of bills, more then any president, and he has done this to his "anti-torture" McCain bill. Which basically means its up to him and him alone, not the law, whether someone gets tortured(Even though the Supreme Court just said they have to follow the Geneva Convention in Git'mo). But yah, i'd say you'd have to be evil to be the president of the U.S., not to mention who Bush chills with, Rumsfeld, Cheny, he's well aware of what their doing. Also the project for the New American Century ( if you bother to read it) is pure evil, imperial bullshit. And the people who wrote that, are also his friends, and totally insane.
  19. 72' SS Chevelle
  20. Pirates 2 sucked ass, was way too long and useless, the end was OK, but it should have been wrapped up sooner.
  21. BAHAHAHAHA ;)
  22. The more attention she draws to herself with her overtly insane comments just feeds her bank account. She doesnt give two shits about any issues in my opinion, she wants to continue to play the downtrodden conservative, and pretend that the conservatives are the "under-dogs" fighting against all that liberalism out there and make shit loads of money while doing it.
  23. ouch! that was harsh
