I LOVE your acoustic shows, the banter is something I really miss from the full band shows (assholes keep yelling "play music!"), I think we have a few shows from the nothing to hide tour, including rarities like hopeless, can't get shot in the back, sort of a protest some, etc. I think it would even be cool for your efforts to do a pay service for access, not like M+ where people complained you didn't do enough for them, but just to access a series of live official "bootlegs" complete with all the banter, mistakes, conversation, etc. that super fans nerd out over. If you could put born to born to kill on live road for this version it would be amazing. Any chance you can give some more info on the new strat you have this tour?

This, 60's style country, throw on a couple covers like mike ness did, I would love to hear matt goods take on something like Wichita lineman

Calgary was a good show, I wasn't big on the opening band but others seemed to enjoy them. Matt was having a good time, played 6 songs in a row right off the bat, had an asthma attack between a couple, had his guitar strap fall off, all kinds of fun stuff. Apparently matt got a new strat, looks like a 70's body but a standard small headstock so maybe a different neck? Some people tried to float to the front of the stage, security moved them away after people nicely asked them to move on, one girl was PISSED that they wouldn't let her stand at the front and argued with the security guard for a while. as we were coming out she was ranting and talking about wanting to throw things at people who complained about her. Some people... Meet and greet was awesome, I gave matt some johnny cash, the who, and lindi ortega on vinyl, apparently he was getting the band watch Brazil recently. Pics... My buddy mike in the picture as well... There were a LOT of people going for VIP, good to see people are willing to shell out some extra cash for The experience, should help counter that cancelled show

Arrows Of Desire Led Me To Listening To Aob Again And...

AoB is my favourite record of all time ever, if he released it on vinyl with all together as a hidden track, I could die happy -
This, I REALLY want to find this out

Matt mentioned a vox ac30 amplifier owned by Brian May, now in the possession of lance/bob rock. It is somewhere in the arrows of desire streaming thread It was Gil Norton Matt wanted to work with

What really stands out to me (aside from the drum sound which REALLY reminds me of avalanche and wlrrr) is how much this album sounds like a late 80's or early 90's indie album, Matt NAILED the feeling of the whole thing and you cand definitely hear the influences, but in his own unique style. Good job matt, you have once again shown your flexibility moving from LOES to this, even if it isn't a big seller it is the kind of album people will seek out for "that sound" As per amps, Matt still has a tone-master (he had 2), and used it to record up to vancouver (usually bass tracks) so I am curious to hear if it was used this time around.

If there is a vinyl version I will buy it in a heartbeat, I LOVE the rooms stuff from coma!

Who Was The Opening Band For These Mg/mgb Shows?
finboy replied to FatsoJetson's topic in Matthew Good
Shame, they had some GREAT songs. Reed and andy worked at guitar works where I took lessons, I went and saw them at the Hard Rock Cafe back when it was still around. Both albums they did have good songs, and fantastic tones, they really put some effort into the recording of their songs. Anyways, back on track, lol -
Any idea about presage code for Wednesday???

Price is nuts, but who knows, someone might go for it

As some of you might have remembered, Matt put some of his gear up for sale a couple of years ago. Among these items were his Tone Master Fender amps used from the beautiful midnight era until Avalanche, then as bass amps for recording onward. As it happens I was lucky enough to buy one of these amps off of him, and thought some of the details on the amp might be of use to those who are interested in the gear used by matt over the years. anoceanpearl was nice enough to go pick up the amp for me from Matt's house, and my parents who were visiting vancouver at the time, brought them all the way back to calgary, so thanks to all of them as well as Matt for the help on the process. pictures... the head in case... the cab in case... cleaned up, out of case, with one of my guitars some hand written lyric note that was taped to the top of the head, I found this when I took the head out of the case, guess the song... the settings in case anyone is interested and wants to give them a crack... from what I have read the circuit of the amp is based on older bassman amps, which Jim Marshall used to develop the marshall series of amplifiers later. I have found it can do both sounds well, and has a TON of growl on the gain channel. It also has 3 different settings for power, it was in the middle position when I got it, but no idea if that is where it has been all its life (50w for those interested). If you want to hear what they sound like there are some samples on youtube, I have also heard dave grohl has started using these live, but like matt, I am sure a variety of amps were used in the studio so couldn't point to any one recording to show which is which. You can see it in the weapon video, but it really isn't doing much more than being a prop.

2012, it was rather uneventful from a fan perspective, there was a half hour between sets and i doubt they saw eachother back stage that said, great show if you get to see both of them.

I believe I still have all the pictures he made in the hospital saved, though I would have to check. Unfortunately I don't check these forums as often as I used to, but I will try to remember when I get home. -
We spent a ton of time working on it, but in hind sight, we should have tracked drums first, syncing up takes was a bitch without them.
