a near death experience is usually a pivotal moment in one's life, and given matt good's status as a canadian celeb, i find it quite admirable that he openly discusses how mental illness has effected his life, including overdosing on ativan. you may think it less cool that a celebrity uses their status to bring social topics to the general public, personally i prefer it.

matt has 4 ac30hh2 amps, limited edition numbers 2-5 apparently. i know he uses a sparkledrive overdrive pedal, and from the recording pics he has a maxon analog delay and fulltone 69 fuzz. guitars are various telecasters, es335's, vintage SG w/ p90's, the rockmaster (built for him by fender, neck humbucker and humbucker sized p90 in the bridge), i don't know if he has played it yet but i saw his mustang in the rack as well. stu is using a gibson 135 with either p100's or p90's (depending if he swapped out the stock pickups), a les paul, and what looks like a custom built telecaster clone. not sure what he has for pedals outside of the diamond memory lane 2 (EXPENSIVE delay that is made in canada) that you can hear all over the live vids, into a vox ac15 milos has i fuzz, phase and overdrive into an ampeg amp IIRC and uses jazzbasses. if anyone gets a shot of matt or stu's pedals i can probably ID them better from the below pic it also appears stu has a volume pedal for all of the swells, an MXR phase 90 and compressor of some kind (possibly mxr dynacomp). the pedal by the left of the mic stand *kind of* looks like an Electro Harmonix micro-pog but i don't know where he would be using that on this tour, it gives a pretty distinct sound (like an organ, jack white uses the full size version on pretty much everything now). also tag on a tuner for all 3 guys as well

i'm also a little surprised at the lack of fought to fight it videos. it is one of the standout tracks on vancouver and is a track that would get the audience involved quite a bit.

may post the sticker on here in case someone wants to make there own, i have a few matt good rarities that i will try to scan once school is out so people can just take the images and get their own shirts made, probably easier that way.

here is a better pic of the original shirt until i can get the sticker scanned... he definitely had some thicker overdrive going in calgary on some songs, others he was likely using a less gainy setting on the sparkle-drive into an ac30 to get a more jangly effect. it actually helps push stu's lead work through the mix and allows for a cleaner mix overall as you have matt and milos doing the high and low registers of rhythm and stu on a delayed or distorted lead. glad to see you had a good time in canada corm

i can't think of many occasions in the going coastal special where all the guys are in the room at the same time during interviews, except for the time when dave and matt are talking about wrestling.

that about sums it up, difference of course is that matt actually made more good albums after the audio of being, weezer...well....meh how much of that was creative editing vs. when it was filmed we might not find out, but it does give off a strange feeling while watching it and knowing what happened.
