if you request, they can fast track it. i think i'll probably go to scalpers again for this one, last set of tickets i snagged were $150/pair for second row, center, and there is probably a good chance i'll be at work when they go on sale.
-
musically i don't mind either, but lyrically i think they are about equally shitty.
-
edmonton but no calgary? WTF???
-
rock star lifestyle can afford you all kinds of toys, those things are big money, knockoff cab's i've found are $700

the rotating speaker amps?
-
worse then middle class gangsters?

it's an alright pop song, but its not a great representation of the direction he went. come on, like everyone here doesn't like the "if your friends don't like it you can tell them from me, FUCK OFF, FUCK OFF, FUCK OFF, FUCK OFF" line ;)
-
personally i would love to see a backing band with Geoff Lloyd, Pat Steward, and Rod Bruno, but i think the only thing less likely then that would be a good/genn reunion, lol
-
daaaaamn that is way nicer then the yellow, i have to keep my eye open for one of those.
-
anyone know when these were released? I saw one on ebay about a year ago but didn't bother bidding (it was huge, and yellow/white). I'll take a wild guess and say they were promo only items?

check your messages ;)

last offer apparently fell through, so still looking.

i do believe that was a digital bitch-slap from matt good, ;)

break in stats are a tricky thing, about a year ago in calgary, by the calgary sun no less (we all know the sun media's credibility ;) ), ranking how dangerous the neighborhoods in the city were. my neighborhood was the worst, go figure. expensive neighborhood, most dangerous area according to the calgary sun...until you look at how it was calculated. you see the neighborhoods all around mine were about halfway down the list. the sun used per capita results, and considering my area is one of the smallest in all of calgary, it swayed the results. if there were to have been 5 break and enters in my neighborhood, and 5 in the next one over that is 3 times as big, mine would show a VERY significant increase in chart position. meanwhile, area's in the rougher part of the city that are 6-7 times larger and have 20 break and enters, are nowhere near the top, and brand new neighborhoods that aren't even filled with residents have 1 or two, putting them in the safest area. there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. it all depends on how you want to spin a story.

upon initial listen, 6.5/10, that riff gets a bit annoying after a while

flashbacks of fubar are rushing through my head

how reliable do you find it? i'm trying to find something with a good clean tone to compliment my orange rocker30 head, but i'm a bit worried about vintage amps, i suck at anything electronic when it comes to repairs.
-
what year twin reverb is that?
-
you have no idea how useful that is, thanks a ton. he's coming to calgary in march with 54-40, i'm really tempted to go just to see what he's using on his pedal board now, but my friends suck at music taste so i've got no one to drag along

Musicians Please Be Carefull...
finboy replied to the old guy's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i already have pretty good pains in both wrists, between 14 years of guitar, manual labour jobs, and data entry, they act up pretty badly. I plan on going in for some custom ear plugs before i start building up my new amp set up. you only get one body, treat it well. -
left to right, top row then bottom... row 1 digitech whammy (likely wh1), E-bow, digitech xp-200 modulation station, electro harmonix dr. q (95% sure on this, it looks like a vintage one) row 2 z-vex fuzz factory, boss os-2, boss dm-2, ibanez ts-9, boss bd-2 off screen kelmt echolette ng-51 EDIT: if someone knows where i can find the vid again, i can confirm the electro harmonix dr.q, its not a very obvious effect on the album from what i can tell, but the screen cap i made is quite blurry, and the video got taken down a couple of times. Edit 2: of the thread i posted, most of those posting on the pedals haven't heard the audio of being, or matthew good at all, so while their thoughts might vary from the above list, simple logic from hearing the album dictates the choices. EX. while a lot of the z-vex pedals might look like theo ones posted above, the fuzz factory is the most likely (or only) pedal that will give the sounds like the solo in the fall of man.

boss = dead on reliability and easily modded. if you don't want to pay boss prices, behringer makes copies of boss pedals that kind of sit in a grey area of the legal system because they are from china i believe, and we all know how much china respects copy right laws. but at $30 each on ebay, hard to complain, makes it cheap to try out a bunch of different pedals.

so a while ago, i decided to take a screen shot of dave genn's pedal board and put it on a guitar forum i'm on. they were able to go through it and translate most of the pedals that were on it. here it is if anyone wants to know... http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showth...light=translate a couple of notes, the digitech whammy is likely a WH1, slightly different from the re-issues, and from what i can gather, it's responsible for the dieing battery sound at the end of "man of action" (just got one in last night and was able to replicate the sound. also, the delay unit is a klemt echolette ng-51, as mentioned in the much music going costal special presentation of the making of "the audio of being" thatit is matt's brothers. thought it might be interesting for any of the guitarists on here.
