I agree that is was very funny. I went to see it in theatre out of pure boredom when it came out and was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend (who usually loves movies like that) thought it looked lame from the previews, but he ended up really liking it too.

How about a vampire comedy? "Once Bitten" starring Jim Carrey. I actually haven't seen this movie, but I'd like to (the video store didn't have it). Anybody seen it? Good? Bad? ~mercy

Have to agree with you about Wil. That guy blew me away on his guitar. As for the Dears, for some reason I just didn't enjoy their performace. I've never heard the album though, so maybe I would have a different opinion of them if I had a listen to the album. ~mercy

The only place I've heard it so far is on the Fox in Vancouver... I've looked so I could try and post a link, but I can't find anywhere where it is previewed... Maybe it's too soon. ~mercy

Hey, What is everyone's opinion of the new Collective Soul song "Counting the Days"? I heard they had to finance the realease of this track themselves, as no record company would put any money in for it. ~mercy

I think I paid about $29 for LOTGA and probably $15 for Raygun back in the day... That's only because I lived in a crappy little town back then that only had a Wal-Mart and a "Big-K" music store. I had to special order the CD's from "Big-K" because they didn't have them in stock and because they were special ordered I had to pay more :angry: Must say, definately worth it though. ;) ~mercy

Personally, to me it looks like just a (really) bad photo of Matt that was scanned either from a magazine or a newspaper, which is why it's grainy. Who knows though. Half the time these days you don't know what's real and what's not! ~mercy

Wow! Thanks for your story, it sounds like you really had fun! I guess I'll share my encounters now, (I never like to be the one to go first!) One time MGB played a show in my small hometown. Everyone at my school was blown away that they would actually play a concert there. Unfortunately, I couldn't get tickets because there was this big conspiracy at the venue where the workers bought all the tickets for themselves and friends before they even went on sale, and when they went on sale there were barely any left (it was a small venue). The day of the show I went to the mall and I saw MG there shopping too. I was going to approach him, but I was too worried about bothering him. When MG's book came out, I went to the book signing at the Virgin Megastore in Vancouver (I'd moved away from my small hometown by this time). I was able to congratulate him on the release of his book. He also understood the joke t-shirt I was wearing (it was an inside joke from when I used to post on a different MG board that he occasionally would visit too). I also went to the midnight release of Audio of Being at a&b sound downtown Vancouver. I was able to have a short conversation with Ian which was cool. Also Dave made a funny face at me when I was taking a picture. The last encounter was when I saw MG walking on Robson St. with his wife. But again, I didn't want to bother him, I'm sure he gets enough attention as it is without me bugging him! Those are my silly stories. Wishing you bunnies, ~mercy~

Hello everyone, I am a new user here, although I have been around in the MG( B ) circles for a number of years... I thought I would share with you what I know about History Teacher. I heard about History Teacher through the circle of fans I communicated with back in the day... Obviously I was interested in a copy, so I emailed the dude (I am going to keep his name private) who was distributing it, and this is the story he told me... I really don't know if it's true or not, but I'm assuming it is... Pretty much he played in the band with Matt up until around 1995 and at the time he left the band Matt actually owed him money, almost $2000. Shortly after, Matt gave him a guitar which wrote off about $400, but did not re-pay the rest of the money. So, he compiled all the demo songs he had in his collection and made a two-CD set to sell to make back the rest of the money that Matt owed him and didn't pay him. 200 copies were made, and he made the money back. However he didn't get to keep it as Matt apparantly was upset that he was distributing his music and took him to court. The last email I had from him said that he had to take a different route to get the money back, such as small claims court. I don't know whatever came of the issue... However I was told that my copy of History Teacher was the very last to go out based on his calculatations, so I am lucky to have it! (Although it is not number 200 ;) ) Hope this clears up the curiousity! Wishing you bunnies, ~mercy~
