Can anyone reassure me that the tickets for the April Victoria Show that got cancelled are valid for the rescheduled August Victoria show? I'm coming all the way from Kamloops, just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time and money (like when I came to Victoria in April only for Matt to have to cancel the show due to illness).

I think Matt's too strong of a focal point to need to rely on a band. He's too good of a musician to need them. I'm perfectly happy with just him solo. No one to get in his way and try to medle with his creativity.

I can't top that, but I did drive down to Victoria from Kamloops this April to see his acoustic show, only for it to be cancelled. We spent a lot of money and no Matt Good concert. Crazy thing is, I kept my tickets and I'll be coming back this August to hopefully see him in Victoria. My boyfriend probably thinks I'm a bit crazy to spend all this money just to see Matt perform, but he keeps his mouth shut for the most part and just accepts it.

I end up skipping over Little Terror quite often too. I've never really enjoyed Middle-Class Gangsters or My Life as a Circus Clown.

I admire Matt for his opinion, because it's educated. He does his homework before voicing an opinion. I wish the world was simpler and there were nothing better to sing about than broken hearts. But, there's more important things. And I think he raises awareness with his politically charged lyrics. Although I admit I'm not always as up-to-date in the happenings around the world, and it does get overwhelming, I think you can't just turn a blind eye to it and pretend it doesn't exist. Then you might as well listen to some lame pop song. Matt's deeper than that, and so are most of his good fans, so I say, let him do what he does best -write songs.

First of all, I think I need to state that Matt would do more than justice to any song out there. I don't think it's his style to do cover songs -he doesn't need to. However, although i don't think this would ever happen, it would be neat to see what Matt could do with some of Counting Crows' older songs, such as "Round Here", "Raining in Baltimore", "Long December" or "Sullivan Street".

I'd definitely pay money if someone made up a decent Matt Good bumper sticker. Something reflecting his intelligence and wit. Or even just a bumper sticker of some of his best song lyrics. I'd be all over that!!!!! I think it'd be a great way to create intrigue in people and make them maybe want to check out Matt Good's more recent stuff. Yep, I'd definitely be all over that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to hear "The Bombmaker", "The Ocean", or "Dancing Invisible" which I think are 3 incredible older songs of his. I think they'd fit beautifully into his acoustic tour set.

I think it's safe to say that his new album will be creative and brilliant and something "new". He's hasn't made the same kind of album twice yet, and I don't forsee that happening in the future. He's constantly re-inventing his style and evolving into even more greatness.

I think the general public isn't ready for Matt Good. His music is too deep. You have to take time and really dissect his lyrics to understand some of the songs. Unfortunately, the vast majority of music consumers only want a catchy tune and lovey-dovey lyrics (sometimes lyrics don't even seem to matter) or a danceable tune. Some of the singles that were released (ie. Hello Time bomb, load me up, the future is x-rated) probably led people to type-cast what Matt Good is really all about. He does have a softer side, yet most of those songs haven't made it onto main-stream radio. I think the general public doesn't want intelligent music; maybe because they don't understand it, or maybe it's just not seen as trendy (yet). I think it's a safe assumption that the majority of Matt Good fans are intelligent, worldly, care about society and politics and just the general universe. We listen to Matt's music not just because he comes up with creative tunes, but because he conveys emotion and has a point in his songs. He's not writing lyrics with the goal of following the formula for a pop "hit". His music is much deeper than that, much more real, and heart-felt. I hope one day soon the world will be a better place, where people care about the future and value intelligence, and Matt Good will be discovered to be the Music Genius (or Music God) that us fans already know he is.

If you don't know who Matt Good is, then why are you here?

Animals can metaphorically represent a lot of characteristics. For example, rats are usually thought of as dirty, or greedy and coniving. Pigs are usually used to describe laziness, obesity, and lack of motivation. Society has paired most animals with certain characteristics, although they are often not actually true (ie. How do we really know if rats are greedy? How do we really know if pigs are lazy -they're locked up in a pen afterall and fed too much food to get fat for human consumption -if they had room, they'd probably be very active animals). I think Matt has his own reasons for using certain animals over and over (Rabbits come to mind),which may not represent necessarily what the average person would think when they hear the word "rabbitt". I think animal metaphors add to the imagery of the lyrics; making the lyrics much more visual and creative.

If I had the desire to try out for canadian Idol, I'd definitely sing a Matt Good song. Maybe Symbolistic White Walls, or Tripoli, or Weapon (if I bring my guitar with me).

I love "New Disguise", it's by far one of my fav's off of Last of the Ghetto Astronauts. That song plays out so vividly in my head. I wonder what the story behind the song is -I'd love to know. Somehow I really relate to it.

I think some people were shocked by At last there's nothing left to say because of its rawness and uncensored style. It's art, it's creative, unique and fiction (or at least most of it). I think people should appreciate it for that. As Matt Good fans, I think most of us realize that, but people who aren't as familiar with Matt have taken the book too seriously and don't understand it.

I think Matt is blessed with near perfect vocals and there's not one song that I think he's weak on. His voice is just as strong and flawless (or even more so )live as on his albums. However, The Rat who would be King is undeniably pretty spectacular, because the notes are so drawn out and it takes a hell of a lot of lung capacity to sing that song. I love singing along to that song, but by the end of it, I'm exhausted. (I'll keep practicing ;) )

Regarding Matt Good and Ben Lee teaming up, I think that could be a good collaboration. I just saw Ben Lee live playing at the night club where I work. He was amazingly good, just acoustic. Tons of people bought his album that night, including me. However, I like the music that Matt creates by himself, and I wouldn't want anyone interfering with his creativity. However, I do like the female voice on "Flight Recorder...", maybe some good backup singers would be a nice addition to a song or two.

For me, it's by far The Night Opus. It's an unforgettable, cleverly written story.

There's something amazing about about "The Bombmaker" that I can't quite put my finger on, but keeps me coming back and listening to it (and singing to it), over and over.

I remember hearing and liking Symbolistic White Walls when it first came out, but didn't really know anything about the band. And then I can remember hearing Everything is Automatic and Apparitions on the radio and liking those songs as well. I picked up last of the Ghetto astronauts at at 2nd hand shop and enjoyed it. In my second year of University my roomates and I swapped CD's all the time and I started listening and loving Underdogs. I saw Matt Good when Hello Time Bomb was big and it was a good show. What really made me notice Matt Good was when I was walking to work one summer night (I work nights at a Bar) and Matt Good was playing for the Fire Relief concert in Kamloops, BC. I could hear every song perfectly, even though I was miles away. It was incredible. It gave me a whole new respect for the guy. My boyfriend had BM, and I started listening to Matt Good a lot more. I saw him in November 2004 and although it was a small turn-out for the show, Matt was fabulous. A year later, my love for Matt Good's music now fully developed, I saw him play a charity concert in Vernon in a small theatre and was BLOWN AWAY. He's the kind of artist I'd always hoped I'd find, but didn't think existed. Brilliant, ever-evolving, meaningful lyrics and an intelligent, world-minded, fame-worthy individual.

I enjoy all of Matt's music, but I think the slower songs show off his poetic lyrics, strong voice and incredible melodies better than the faster tempo, heavier instrument based songs.

Just listened to Beautiful Midnight last night after having not done so in a few weeks (been listening to some burned mixed CD's of Matt's songs A LOT). Hearing Running for Home was amazing. I had somehow completely forgotten how beautiful that song is. It frustrates me that so many people haven't been exposed to songs of that caliber. All they relate Matt Good with is Hello Time Bomb, when there's so much more that people need to discover.
