It had nothing to do with genre. I am a fan of his, but I enjoy other kinds of movies as well. Non-Kevin fans didn't like it because as a movie, Jersey Girl was terrible. It looked nice, but was actually very, very bad.
silverchair ist no more, as far as I know. Mr. Natalie Imbruglia's new band should be pretty good though; maybe the change wil freshen up his sound, which, in my mind, was getting really stale.
In what was a very strange experience, they played two songs twice ('Boys in the Bright White Sports Car' and 'We're Here for a Good Time')and covered 'Hash Pipe' by weezer.
AND there were old people making out EVERYWHERE.

Trooper has a reputation as Canada's #1 party band (a title that is now uncontested since Doug of Doug and the Slugs died tragically last year), so they had better live up and play 'boys in the bright white sports car'.
They seem to have gone up in venue size again; playing Red's in Edmonton being a step up from shitty bar in Vegreville.
