  1. I think that's a good example too, but then didn't the Conservative Party also issue press releases saying that the Liberals and NDP supported child pornography? I seem to remember reading about that and thinking that was a stupid thing to say.
  2. I don't mind country all that much. Like any genre it's great when done well, and can be a great means for dark storytelling, which we all know Matthew is capable of. If he were to do a country album, that's what I think it would be like.
  3. I saw an interview where they said that if Bush won the election, they'd consider moving to Canada.
  4. Matthew Good (Band) Radiohead Interpol Wilco The Shins Pilate Arrogant Worms Miles Davis The Who And then others I listen to, but not enough to be my favourites include: Johnny Cash Chick Corea Weezer Led Zeppelin Muse
  5. Matt has said that he would want to "drop off the face of the earth" if he ever got too famous, since he didn't think he could take the pressure.
  6. It's for things like these when we need voter fraud, so I can vote for all of them.
  7. Were they the ones with that song, "Headstrong"? Can't say I liked that song, although I didn't find it very distinguishable from a lot of others out at the time.
  8. While the media here is more likely to give a liberal viewpoint, I don't think that was the case during the election when the Conservatives were virtually given a free pass and the Liberals got hounded and hounded in the press. I guess "liberal media" is a term used for a media source that won't question the government too much.
  9. "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" - The Darkness
  10. Well if this whole thing was justified in the first place, there wouldn't be that problem, would there?
  11. I remember seeing a political cartoon in the paper where Bush was doing a whole bunch of dance moves, saying things like: "I dance, I wiggle, I jiggle, I bob and weave, but I never flip-flop like John Kerry."
  12. If he'd take responsibility for his mistakes, I'd look at things differently. If he had been to any of the funerals at the start of this whole mess, I'd look at things differently. If George W. Bush knew what it was like to watch friends die, if he knew what war was like, I'd look at things differently. Or maybe it's just my ingrained liberal bias ;)
  13. I dare anyone who hates country music or anything like it to listen to Richmond Fontaine and not like them. This is some pretty neat stuff, and I'd recommend them to anyone. I read about them in an Uncut magazine a few months ago, but I just got around to listening to some of their stuff, and it's simply amazing. My favourite songs are "Two Broken Hearts" and "Polaroid". Give them a try. I think you'll be quite surprised ;)
  14. If smaller venues are more his thing, then I bet he'd like to play the West End Cultural Centre here in Winnipeg.
  15. 'Brown Eyed Girl' - Van Morisson
  16. 'Like A Rolling Stone' - Bob Dylan
  17. The greatest saxophone player who ever lived! How the hell is he obscure? Yeesh...maybe I'm too much of a band nerd for this. Oh well. Try this then: Pink Floyd. *sulks away
