Is a minimum wage the same thing as a living wage? Chances are, if you're homeless, you won't be getting a home anytime soon making (in Manitoba) $8/hour, when many of those jobs aren't full time to begin with.

I'd say this is easily on par with Avalanche. What would put it over the top (and I've said this a few times, I believe) after maybe a few more listens is that Hospital Music feels like a complete work, the way OK Computer does, for example. It paints a picture with the music, and I don't get that feeling with Avalanche. Miles ahead of WLR&RR, and I love that record.

I think I'm gonna wait until the album is actually released before I think about this one.

I played that for my final band concert in high school. It's such a great piece.

Muse do some wicked covers. 'Can't Take My Eyes Off of You' by Billy Joel and 'House of the Rising Sun' are a couple other great ones (although I don't know if 'House of the Rising Sun' really counts as a cover, if I remember correctly).

I find that he's one of those guys who's an amazing writer, but his stuff sounds way better when someone else performs it.

After listening through a couple times, probably the thing I like the most about it is that the music and melodies themselves give so much to the lyrics to create an image of maybe a dark, abandoned emergency room or empty downtown street at night. As a whole album, I think it works quite well, better than WLR&RR and possibly Avalanche.

Radiohead has some crazy-obscure influences. Stockhausen, anyone? It's still cool what they do, though.

It seems to me that the vast majority of the Radiohead influences in music today come from 'High and Dry' and a few other songs from The Bends. In mainstream music, anyway.
