  1. You're "not allowed" but they never say anything during the show.
  2. Mendelia of the grey skies - teh pumpkins
  3. What about The Underground? I love the acoustics in that place.
  4. This is so true. Actually, it turns out that it was just me posting six times in this same thread. There's only one other guy here from Hamilton.
  5. Yes, The Rat is Matt's greatest achievement--not Avalanche or Suburbia like how others believe.
  6. ...now that's what I'm talking
  7. I was never big on The Future Is X-rated. I usually sigh when A Boy And His Machine Gun ends.
  8. I would like to also hear Matt belt out Boneyard Tree, Incarnate or Shut Up.
  9. Danko Jones knows how to put on a good show--not that I'm saying that I own any of the cds.
  10. Well if you think you can pull something off, then go right ahead but if you can't, then don't worry about it.
  11. I would be worth it all to see Life Beyond The Minimum Safe Distance, The Fine Art Of Falling Apart and Protest live.
  12. Family Guy for continuing to rip off classic Simpsons sketches.
  13. *laughs with you*
  14. Awards directing towards the teenage demographic was what I was referring to in my "being nominated in many awards now" part. Yes, awards shows like the MTV Video Music Awards showcase the true depth of artists' abilities as genuine musicians. *cough* The thing is that Cash isn't extensive as you'd think. He doesn't have a broad range of musical diversity--he just...well, stuck to his roots at country/western & folk music. Of course, it's all a matter of taste but calling Trent Reznor's thick, multi-layered tracks "not as extensive" as Cash's southern guitar plucks is going a little overboard. Enough is enough...my bed awaits.
  15. Trent Reznor brought industrial music into the mainstream--of course NIN will be remembered. Johnny Cash will be a fixture of the country music scene forever. But if Cash never covered Hurt, I do not think he would have been praised by "casual fans" (not implying that you are one) for being a legend. We would have been disappointed with his death but not think further into it. Rick Rubin was a big part of Cash's success and managed to get Cash's Hurt spinned into MTV rotation (the pinnacle of mainstream media)--consequently, he began to be nominated for many award shows. I just don't see the hype of his material in our demographic besides the influences of the conglomerate industries in the music business today. I hate to tell you, but Cash was winning awards much before this. ...awards directed towards the teen demographic.
  16. pearl jam, pumpkins, m. good band, radiohead, ime, modest mouse, faith no more, pavement, alice in chains, nine inch nails ...or somethin' add rem, stp, jane's addiction, the flaming lips, live, pixies, and sonic youth bye.
  17. Necessary for a record company to create profits on bands who are slacking popularity-wise.
  18. Neat band. They remind me of the band Hum--tons of feedback and can barely hear the vocals.
  19. Pearl Jam > Matt Good soo yes, call me a fan if you want
